Performs better than original OEM battery

My Samsung laptop's original battery (2 years old) had become very unreliable - it would run right down, and when Windows popped up the 10% warning, I had about 10 seconds to plug it in. In addition, the laptop would occasionally just power itself off like the battery had been pulled. I put in this battery, charged it overnight, ran it down to under 10% once, then started using it normally. The laptop will now cruise 2.5 -3 hours before the warning pops up, and then I still have another 15-20 mins to plug it in. This battery fits very snugly, which I also like better than the original battery. Great price, fast ship and great battery!

Failing after a few weeks.

The battery fails to charge to 100%. I see a message that says: "80% available (plugged in, not charging)". This is exactly how the previous battery began its descent into total failure.
Does anyone make good quality products anymore?

Defective battery

I bought this battery because the original battery got damaged after a year of use, I was expecting a better battery from the other reviews, but this battery doesnt hold charge for more than 10 minutes, although Windows says 1hr 10min.

Waste of time and money.

Item arrived in already-opened packaging (razor blade marks present), half-charged and showing clear signs of prior usage. Advertised as 4400mah, but marked as 5200mah and shows up under an OS as around 4550mah.

The battery did not fit well, but made solid contact with the appropriate connector. The voltage levels it produced dropped rapidly (much quicker than an OEM battery) with its charge level, far below the required 11.1 volts typical of many Samsung laptop models. Falling below this level will cause the laptop to shut off instantly under mild CPU load. I averaged about 2 minutes between complete shutdowns resulting from the battery's failure under Windows and Linux-based operating systems.

My guess is that is has a bad cell, which causes the insufficient voltage. Very poor quality control. Sending back to Amazon and buying from a more reputable seller instead.

Also, several of you who have had success with this battery have noted that you can't get it to charge above 80%. This may be due to Samsung's battery life "feature" that limits charging of the battery to 80% max. It should be turned off by default, but it's worth a look if you still have trouble. You can turn it on/off in the BIOS settings, typically accessed by hitting the F2 key on startup for the RF models.

Ordered two and both were defective

Ordered two batteries. Both were defective and it was less than a week before I was getting "Consider replacing your battery" warnings from my laptop and a full charge lasting less than 30 minutes. Returned both batteries. Also, the ad description says the batteries are 4400mah, but the batteries I received were 5200mah.

This battery had the best reviews here on amazon and it wasn't too expensive either. I decided that it was enough to spend and if it worked for a while and quit then no big deal. After 3 months it's charging and working just like it did on day one. Don't hesitate, just buy this replacement battery for your computer

Not reliable - pay more for a different battery

I was really disappointed - I was hoping to experience what some of the more positive reviewers did, but ended up in the "don't get this product" category. I didn't think anything would be worse than the original Samsung battery - which I never got more than about an hour and 20 minutes worth of charge out of, but this one is worse. I followed the installation instructions EXACTLY so that was not the issue. What's worse about this than the original is that you can check battery levels within seconds and receive wildly varying results. One second it will say you have an hour left and the next 20 minutes, then back up again. And it is not remotely accurate, although the Samsung wasn't either but I learned right away that if it said I had 15-20 minutes left I really had only a few. This one you have no idea where you're really at. Every time I've used it on just battery, it's completely shut down unexpectedly in the middle of my work. I think the lowest it's gone where I've checked it is that I have 30 minutes left and the next second it's crashing my system. And I paid extra for expedited shipping because this is the first time I've had to replace the battery and wasn't sure how long the original would hold out. So more $ wasted there. My recommendation is to bite the bullet and pay more for another battery. I can only use this one when it's plugged in, otherwise it's not reliable and I don't want to lose data or damage my computer with the harsh shutdowns. Not happy at all....
