I ordered this for my 1.5 year old HP Model DV7-3165dx laptop. It was shipped on time and arrived promptly. After doing a search on how to remove/replace the battery on my laptop I inserted this new battery without a problem (there is a trick to removing the battery - push the lever ALL the way to the left and have a very small flathead screwdriver handy).

The new battery seems to fit perfectly, unlike a couple of other reviewers here. It had a 70% charge when I put it in, so let it run until it shut down. I then charged it to 100%, unplugged the charger and used the computer intermittently for the next 2.5 to 3 hours before it discharged. I'm very satisfied so far, and glad I didn't spend more on an HP replacement. Will advise if it goes bad, or if conditions warrant - but so far so good !

The battery falls out of my laptop on a regular basis. I shaved off some of the plastic with a knife and now it at least latches but is still a poor fit. Save yourself a headache and spend a little more. The lifespan is not as good as as the original either.

I wish I would have paid attention to the review that says this product kept falling out of his laptop and he had to shave it down to get it to work. He is absolutely correct. Have a large supply of duct tape if you want to try this one.

Great Battery for the price

I bought this item as a replacement for my Dead battery. My original battery lasted me 18 months. I was skeptical about the price but decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did as this battery works just as good as my OEM one that came when I bought my DV7-3165DX

Pros:

Works as good as OEM Hp Battery
When installed no visual sign that it's not an oem battery

Cons:
Battery life still tops out at 2.5-3 Hrs (Same as Oem one so don't buy thinking longer battery)

I received this and it did not work on day one. I still do not have a replacement battery for my computer. I tried to find a way to return it but was not able to. I am very busy as I am in my final semester of nursing school and I can count on my computer in order to be able to pass my classes. This is very disappointing

This unit came in quick from seller Techorbits. 2 days after I put in my order. Came packaged in an anti-stick sleeve, wraped in bubble warp, inside a box with insturtions on the back of FAQ. Top notch service will do business with again. Read other reviews with issues on fitment which I had none. Unit pops right in, comes out as if OEM. Also battery came to me at 70% percent charged which my computer recognized quick without any system issues like the ones on other buyers stating that it's not able to recognize battery. All in all buy the battery from Techorbits 5 stars they earned with me.

Alright battery

This is an alright battery. As others have mentioned, the fitment isn't perfect. It doesn't always lock into place in the laptop, it can come out and shut your PC off if you aren't also plugged into an AC adapter.

Another problem is that since this battery, when on battery power, the computer unexpectedly dies somewhere around "30% battery remaining". Again, no notice whatsoever. When my battery gets below 50%, its time to plug in.

I received this battery and it dod not want to fit into the computer without some added effort to get it seated into the case. I used it for 2 cycles and then it completely failed. The computer no longer recognized a battery being inserted.
