I ordered this for my Dell Laptop when the original one started going bad. The Dell website wanted too much for a new one and most reviews for the Dell brand cords were poor. So, I searched on Amazon and figured I would try this one which was much cheaper than others and had received some good reviews. Plus, if it turned out bad, I wouldn't be out of a lot of money. I am very pleased with this purchase. It works great and does exactly what it should plus it doesn't get hot with use like the original cord did. It's plugged into my laptop right now actually. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It arrived when it was supposed to without any problems. Excellent price, Great buy!

Quit charging after 3 months

3 months ago when I first purchased this charger/adapter, I would have given it 5 stars. But now, 3 months into using it, it will no longer charge my Dell 1525. And while the product description says there is a 12 month warranty, no one seems to know how to contact the manufacturer. I've talked with Amazon multiple times about this, and since it is past 30 days, they say I need to talk to the manufacturer. But they have no contact information for them, and there is nothing on the adapter about who to call. It's manufactured by SIB, but I've yet to be able to find any current information on them. So while the price may be good, if I'm going to be replacing it every 3 months because I can't get the warranty fulfilled, it's no longer such a bargain.

This product is so cheap it quit working and the ends were torn in two months, with normal use. The charger was rarely moved! It has a thirty day return policy... ONE MONTH! Really?? DO NOT BUY!! DO NOT BUY!! There should be a way to put "ZERO" stars.

Let me be blunt here: This power adapter isn't worth the cost of shipping it, neither is it worth the cost of shipping it back for replacement when it fails or if doesn't work properly in the first place, which it seems likely it won't. If you can get it to work, the charger runs hot to the touch. The wall cord is loose in the charger. The charger's cord is loose in the laptop. If, as I did, you give up on the plug on the end of the power cord and try to solder the power cord directly to the charger pins, you'll find they're plated with something you can't solder to (probably nickel). If, in desperation, you tear the adapter apart to solder the power cord directly to the board, you'll find the cheapest, nastiest piece of circuit board you've ever seen, held into a poorly fitting case with nothing but a dab of some kind of mastic, you'll find components insulated with ordinary adhesive tape (not even proper electrical tape), "heat sinks" held in place only by the leads of the power transistors they're attached to, and you'll find the case in question poorly held together with incomplete ultrasonic welds.

This is the cheapest, nastiest, shoddiest piece of electronic trash I've ever seen. Don't waste your money on it. The only reason I gave it one star is because Amazon won't let me give it none at all.

Implied warranty

When one buys a product, it is expected that the product meet the advertised performance expectations.
While the device allowed using the laptop, it didn't charge the battery. I assumed that the battery was bad and
consequently purchased a battery that I didn't need. If the seller had advertised that the device didn't
charge the battery, I would not have wasted the time and money of returning the product and buying a battery.
