My laptop won't show battery status

This battery has given me the worst possible problem. My trusty toshiba laptop cannot detect the juice remaining in the battery. This means it shuts down without warning because the software has no way of knowing how much power is left in the battery. I never had this problem before, this is my 2nd replacement battery and this is the first time I am having such an issue. I've lost lots of unsaved data and have to plug my laptop in after an hour just in case it decides to power off suddenly.

Just as bad as an old battery

Not bad for the price

I bought this as a replacement since after two years my laptop battery had finally died. For the price it is a really good battery. The only thing that is a negative with it, is that it doesn't hold a charge as well as my last one. Have to make sure that I have it plugged in every couple of hours.

Does exactly as it claims to do, and is much cheaper than the battery on the manufacturer's website. Only complaint is that it seems to be much more snug than my old battery, and is a lot harder to remove. One side of the battery cover on the back of my laptop is higher than the other side, so for a while I was worried that it was inserted incorrectly. Turns out that it's just THAT tight of a fit.

I was all excited when I found this battery online and such a good price. It came on time and was easy to install, but after charging it a few times, found out that it only lasts about 2 hours. I'm really not sure how long it was supposed to last, but 2 hours doesn't seem like a good battery to me.
