It works, but not for long

I was hoping to save money with this product, since Samsung wants so much more for, what on the surface, seems to be the same product. The first power supply lasted 3 months. It failed at the flexible portion of the connection to the laptop. I move my laptop around a lot, so I assumed it was something I did to damage it. I replaced it with the same product. The second power supply cord lasted only a week before failing in the same spot. I ended up buying the replacement cord from Samsung.

If you leave your laptop on a desk all the time, this will probably work okay for you. If, like me, you tend to move your laptop around, use it on your lap (oh goodness, isn't that why we get laptops?!) or otherwise subject the end of the power cord to any stress, find a more durable replacement. The Samsung product costs more, but it lasts for years versus weeks.

I took my computer to the repair shop because the cord was too hot to even touch
They got me the correct cord and it is fine now

Cord broke after 4 months of use...

I experienced what others are describing with this power cord. The cord snapped right where the 3 slot plastic connection piece and the cord meets. I've been using the cord for less than 4 months so it's pretty shameful that it broke so quickly under normal use. I was able to do a repair job on the split wires using some basic electrical wiring repair tools and that worked for a month before it failed again. I swapped out the cord and the rest of the unit works just fine. So I guess for 7 bucks you get half a working product.

Look elsewhere to get a quality replacement.

It was good...while it lasted.

The charger worked pretty well. There were no problems when it came to just charging my Samsung laptop. The charger is generally decent. However, the cord is pretty thin so it's important that you take care of it. People trampled on my charger, which caused the cord to rip. Eventually wires were exposed and my charger started shooting out sparks. This only happened because I was being careless with my charger. I recommend this charger if you are in dire need of a Samsung charger, but make sure that you take care of it, especially the cord.
