Battery Works Perfectly

My mother's MacBook Pro (MBP) 13" (a1322) was in pretty good condition for it's age. But, it's getting older and I thought it was a good time to replace the battery to keep it in tip top shape.

The kit came with two screw drivers--one to take the screws out of the bottom plate of the laptop to reveal the "innards" and the other is a Y-tip screw driver to get those tri-winged screws out to free the battery. Both screw drivers worked wonderfully and I plan to hold on to them for future needs. I'm sure they'll last and they didn't strip any of my screws like some cheap screw drivers tend to do.

Alas, the battery came wrapped in an electro-static resistant bag, cushioned between two pieces of cushy but firm foam above and below it (with screwdrivers on top of the foam so as not to be touching the battery at all). I grounded myself, removed the bottom panel of the laptop, keeping the screws close by. Then I removed the three screws holding in the battery with the Y-shaped screwdriver and added them to my holding area.

Making sure I was grounded, I removed the connector pin that hooks the battery to the logic board via the piece of plastic it is bound to, and then simply lifted out the entire old battery with the second piece of plastic in the center along the edge of the battery. It was dusty and dirty. I cleaned out the inside of my laptop with canned air and those alcohol lens/screen wipes on any surfaces that were just metal and not functional chips of any kind. This was to make sure nothing was going to overheat or damage the new battery or any other part of the computer.
