Great bag, but the straps wear out too soon

I used this backpack for college classes originally. The laptop pouch is well protected and there is padding on the bottom of the bag. Many other brands have no protection on the bottom of the bag. The size is great for holding a few textbooks, a mid sized laptop and not being overstuffed or too loose. I really wanted to like this bag but after 4 weeks the shoulder straps started to fray and the foam inserts started to come out of the straps. I tried using some tape to hold it together, but the bag did not last nearly as long as I would expect.

Straps Fray. Buyer Beware!

Buyer Beware! In under two weeks time of using this product the strap pieces disconnected and frayed at the shoulders. I consider it unacceptable of any product to degenerate so quickly with very minimal use or load. Begin to fray after a year and half okay... a week and a half no.

All in all it's pretty disappointing, considering the design and fit of the backpack is great. Too bad you it won't hold up.

Comfortable and functional

Love this bag! I couldn't travel with a heavy shoulder bag any longer - my neck was screaming for relief. Transitioning to a backpack to lug around my laptop was a careful process and I searched high and low for just the right bag. I love this one. It's sleek and compact in appearance, yet holds a ton of stuff. I am a small person and it never feels too heavy or too big. Would highly recommend it.

Don't buy this bag!

Great pack ruined by terrible straps

I want to love this backpack. It's the right size, holds my laptop and notebook and e-reader perfectly. Best form factor and compartment arrangement I've ever had. HOWEVER, the straps blow out in less than 2 months! I'm on my third (and final) pack now. Once this one blows out, which I expect to happen by New Year's, I'm going to move to something else. Too bad, as I really liked this pack. :(

UPDATE: I sent pics of the blown out backpack and Solo has sent me a replacement backpack at no charge. But I only got one replacement for two blown out packs. Still, they made an effort.

It was a light, slim, really affordable backpack. I enjoyed it much better than much fancier backpacks I have, but its straps frayed in less than 3 months.
