The poles are very sturdy, handsomely designed, like the "Stella Lab" logo. The extend of the adjustable height is amazing. The top has small walls on all sides, with a protective rubber inside the edge, there are some openings on some of the sides that allow electronic cables to flow through. The best part is the top can be tilted to a very large degree, not only catering people's preference, but if it is for projectors, it will correct any vertical distortion that a keystone technology can not. Excellent price.

Disappointed in what I received

First things first, I took the parts out of the box and discovered a few key pieces were bent. I know I didn't intend to purchase a damaged product. After a bit of 'fixing' with some pliers I was able to get it built so that it is usable.

Next, this stand is incredibly heavy. It's not a easy 'toss it in the car' piece of gear when rushing out to a gig or an open mic or whatever it is you purchased it for. The platform is on the smallish size and won't fit a 15" laptop within it's borders, however, it's so sturdy I will be added a new surface by drilling a couple of holes and bolting on a larger top. The structure of the stand can easily handle this modification.

I kept it because I was able to fix it to my satisfaction, you should be aware it could come compromised though. The price makes this alternative acceptable to me.

Wow. By far the best of the available options!

I am very impressed with this item. Of the other stands I considered, this one was of exceptional quality. The entire stand is made of metal including the edged metal tray. The center pole telescopes up to about 60" and the long bolts to secure its position have heavy plastic handles easy to turn. The tray is substantial, the edge is about 1/2 in and lined with a rubber cushion enough to keep your laptop or projector from sliding off. Especially nice is that the tray is able to be significantly tilted. Either to adjust the projection angle, read music on a laptop screen, or access the keyboard for typing. I placed my laptop on the stand and could position it to be easily reached and the screen easily seen.

My biggest concern was that the stand would be unstable, flimsy, and made of cheep plastic. Similar to items twice the price, I believe this stand is of excellent quality at an exception price. This is not a Amazon Prime item, but is still worth the price with addition $10.49 shipping charge. It would be great if Amazon approached Stellar Labs to do their distribution. They carry a number a great products.

Missing parts

The stand appears to be a great stand - sturdy, well-made, and superior to the flimsy things I have tried. But that is all I can say. Parts were missing, so it was impossible to get this assembled.

By beef is with MCM Electronics. I contacted MCM about the missing parts, and asked to return it. I have received an RMA, but that is it - no shipping label. I must pay to return something which is missing parts???

I will never purchase anything from MCM Electronics again.

I was looking for a stand to hold my laptop, as I use it for song charts when performing live with my band. First, this stand arrived at my home in 2 days. When I took it out of the box, I immediately knew this was a high quality stand. It is SOLID and the tripod base is well built. The tray is heavy duty plastic but not a problem. All the knobs that tighten the various parts are efficient and sturdy. This stand will last a long time if you take care of it and don't abuse it. I am glad I bought this stand and would not hesitate to buy another if I have a need for an extra. Great value and looks good too!
