I have an Acer Aspire E14 with Windows 8.1, as soon as I received this product I plugged it in and the drive instantly appeared on my pc. I've had it about one week. And it works great! The quality and function of this product met and surpassed my expectations. For those who have issues some suggestions included, make sure you plug the drive into the USB 2.0, I use the power cord in the 3.0 with no problem. Also when I insert a disk and the run disk screen does not appear I right click On driver shortcut and selet auto play.

Disappointingly, I had to return it. The online description said it would work with Windows 8. The little leaflet that came with it had directions for Win98 setup. I thought that might be a typo, so I proceeded anyway. I did manage to successfully burn one CD, but it took multiple tries, then I couldn't eject the CD without a paperclip. It subsequently wouldn't read that CD or any other. (I was able to read the burned CD on my Mac.) The small form factor of this drive was just what I wanted, but I basically found it unusable for my purposes. Perhaps it would work with an earlier version of Windows, I don't know.

Great price, plugged it in and BAM, it worked iLstantly! The power cord that came with it was the incorrect size but the unit was powered by the USB 3.0 port instantly! I installed Reason Music Software with it without issues! The best part is that the estimated ship time was posted for 7-10 days out and I received it in only 2 days, I can't say that the seller would do this again but it was a pleasant surprise. Bought 1 after 3 uses door did not open, Dealer shipped 1 free for reevaluation, CD PLAYER is fine however IT WONT PLAY DVD'S not very happy with this product spend more money and buy something better. After further research looking and Q&A for this item it appears it will not work with windows 8 which is what I have. If I would have done more research I would buy something else. I did however try the unit on another lap top running windows 7 and it worked fine. They should let buyers know it wont work with windows 8 or provide a solution. It's clear that this product does not work with windows 8 as you look at the questions and answers yet there details say it does. Dealer needs to revise there ad!
