Looks Can Be Deceiving

I bought this because it looked good on paper. Also, I have had success with Targus products in the past. I figured I could take a chance on this one. After using it for a few weeks, I have to say that I bought a cheaper model from targus a couple years ago that still works better than this one. This one makes more noise than my new laptop. It also gets warm. At first, I thought it was my laptop. When I picked up my laptop, the laptop was cool, but the "cooling pad" was warm. One thing I do like is that it is super comfortable. I don't hardly notice it is there until it starts to get warm. My advice is to consider other models. Targus is a great brand, but for some reason this model just isn't up to par.

Pay less expect less

I bought if for over a month and if I use it continuously for > 4 hrs then its not efficient. If you plan to use it for 1 to 2 hr then its ok.
No noise and fan is USB powered, design is good. but cooling is poor.
I would buy a product paying a little more then go for this product.

Great Chill Mat

I recently ordered the larger Targus Chill Mat for my 15.6" Laptop and liked it very well. It is very quiet. However it was a little big for my Laptop carrying case so I decided to order the smaller Targus Dual Fan Chill Mat. It is slightly smaller than my Laptop and it works just great. It is just as quiet as the larger one and keeps my Laptop from getting too warm. Plus it fits very well in my carrying case. I gave the larger Chill Mat to my son. He really likes it because it is a lot better made and quieter than another brand he bought from another store.

For the price you are paying for this fan, it does what it is suppose to do. It is not exactly a silent fan but that is what you get for the price you pay. But so far, it seems to be working well and it has quite a nice feel to it. I would recommend it if you need a cooling fan but not wanting to spend much. :)

Fits my 15.6 Laptop Great plus Great Price!!!

I bought this chill pad for my HP 15.6" laptop and it fits & works great. I already have 1 Targus chill pad for another computer that has the "v" shape construction that works great for working in your lap but I like this model because it lays flat and fits in my bag easier. I really like the cord storage feature.
Only con is that the cord is on the left side of the pad so to use it as designed you have to have USB ports on the left. You can turn the pad around to use the right side USB access but the air vents on the pad don't get the optical cooling position.
I still highly recommend this cool pad, especially for the price. Very satisfied!!!!
