Great Job Targus!

This case is of very high quality. There is padding around the entire bag. Total, there is about one inch of padding on each side of where the notebook is stored.

The clips that allow the bag to be hung around the shoulder are metal so they will not break off in the future after long use. Although metal clips sound like a small detail, they are really very important: in the past, my notebook case had a plastic clip that broke off as I was swinging the case over my shoulders; don't let this happen to you. All the zippers on the case are made of metal as well. If the metal clips or the zippers break, the case is backed by a lifetime warranty. Thank you Targus!

The pocket that holds the notebook is very well padded. I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with a 14.1 inch screen that fits very nicely. The case can probably hold notebooks up to 15 inches with no problems. The pocket that holds the notebook also has a small Velcro strip that goes across the notebook after it is put in. The zipper on the notebook pocket has two holes that a lock can go through.

There are 4 separate zippered compartments total. One is designed to hold papers and folders but is not large enough for a binder. One holds the notebook. The other two pockets can hold cables, a mouse, and other miscellaneous objects. I always carry my notebook, a mouse, a mouse pad, an Ethernet cable, iPod, iPod charger, iPod cable, notebook power adapter, and a USB flash drive and I still have space for more.

The price that Amazon has is a steal. Other cases of this quality will easily run $50 or more.

PS. The bag is not waterproof for those who want to know.

Good carrying case

I have had this carrying case for about 2 months now and it has been great for me. I like the top zip for the computer, because then i don't feel like it will fall out like with some that zip all the way around. It has plenty of pockets and places for gagets and papers and things. My charger is able to fit in the case as well when i have my computer in it. The adjustable shoulder strap makes it easy for me when i'm carrying alot of other items when traveling, but the 2 hand-held handles work nicely when moving the case around too.

This laptop bag is one of the better ones you'll find for this price. To me it is either this or you go with one of the 70.00 leather or totally waterproof ones. Don't get me wrong...this bag can resist some water, just not for an entire day! Anyway...There are many comapartments that allows you to effeciently organise your pens, books, cd, power cords, other devices. Lots of room for your computer and very stylish.

The one reason I choose this bag is that it does the job of a laptop bag without looking too much like a laptop bag. Why is this important? Well, laptop theft is on the rise and anyone can easily spot a laptop bag these days. It is sooo easy. This looks more like a nice bag with books in it. I tried asking some friends and they all failed claiming that a laptop was not in it.

Really satisfied customer.

purchased the bag in 2008 for my laptop and it has served me well. i have traveled many miles and all the components are still intact. the bag is constructed with decent materials and has an adequate amount padding to secure several accessories for your laptop.

I was extremely pleased with this case when I received it. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is not too bulky but has great padding around the laptop. My 16" fits perfect yet is still easy to insert and take out of the bag. It has room for files or other materials and has a large pocket for pens, discs etc. Seems to be well made and is very light. Perfect for what I needed.

Glad it fits

I have a 15.6" Toshiba Satellite laptop. None of the reviews I read about this bag gave me any indication that my laptop would fit into this bag. I looked up the specs on Targus's website, and the specs there indicated that I was cutting it close.

The main reason why I was concerned was because I have a nano receiver for my wireless mouse, which I keep plugged into my laptop. This nano receiver sticks out the side of the laptop, and makes my size requirements a bit larger. I measured my laptop with the nano and got 15.5" x 10" x 1.5". After receiving the bag, I discovered that there was more than enough room for the laptop with the nano. Just make sure the nano doesn't rub into the pouch or it may cut into the fabric. It's just the right size for my laptop.

The bag is very soft, seems high quality, and tough. There is ample room for files (accordion style), slots for surge protectors/portable hard drives/pens, usb, etc. In the laptop's pouch compartment, there is a strap to keep the laptop secure. Also, there's enough room outside the pouch for an Ipad or more files. Zippers seem very sturdy. There's also a hoop strap in the back where you can slide onto your rolling carry on luggage handle. The shoulder strap has metal hooks.

I have not carried my laptop around much, but my only possible gripe would be that there is no segregated area or pouch to keep small items like my wireless mouse. Also, the bottom is not rubberized nor does it have feet in case you need to set it down on the floor.

This bag has a two tone color, but the actual light grey in the picture is much darker in reality.

One of the best things about this bag is that there is no cumbersome flap that you have to flip over in order to get to your laptop. Just unzip and grab (no pun intended).
