The Techni Mobili Deluxe Rolling Laptop Cart with Storage is made of heavy-duty engineered wood panels with a moisture resistant PVC laminate veneer and a scratch-resistant powder-coated steel frame. The table panel tilts so you can adjust it to the most ergonomic, comfortable working angle. It also features a safety edge-stopper to prevent objects from sliding off when tilted. You can easily adjust the table height between 30.75 and 45.5-Inch with dual adjustment knobs. There is an open storage compartment and a closed storage compartment with bottom hinges. Two of the fours non-marking nylon casters include locking mechanisms. The table and closed storage top and bottom shelves each have a 20 lb weight capacity and the base of the cart has a 30 lb weight capacity. COLOR: Chocolate.

Just What We Were Looking For; Using As a Book Stand

This was the PERFECT solution for our home library. We wanted a relatively small, yet tall and sturdy Book Stand for reading/research in our home library. Something to use to take a book out of a bookcase, then be able to page through and find what information we're looking for, then return the book to the shelf. We'll also be using it to store books that need to be "re-filed" after reading.

This was the IDEAL answer for us. The color is closest to a dark mahogany and blends perfectly with our bookcases. The footprint is small and it's easy to "wheel it" here or there within the room.

I assembled it myself. If a spatially challenged English Major can do it, so can you!

Just take your time, be sure to follow other reviewers' advice (leave all screws/parts in their plastic bags till you need them), and it pays to use a cordless drill to save your hands and save some time. I'm really impressed with this for the price; it's heavy, sturdy, and though a laminate, it looks close enough to real wood to be an augmentation to any office. Highly recommended!

VERY PRACTICAL

I use it to move my lap top to the exam rooms. Does the job perfect. NOW, about assembling: make sure you cut out the brown coating from the holes so you don't shove it inside when put the bolts in. Also, keep in mind that he large bolts that are already screwed in the parts are "twist and lock" mechanisms. Look with a flash light to make sure the hole is open and once you place the given part with the bolts in, screw them into the lock position. Otherwise, the bolts don't go all the way in, of course. It does take quite a while to assemble and definitely 2 people make the job much easier.

Sturdy, rugged, well designed but takes some assembly

I wanted a laptop stand where I could stand and work. What I received suits me nicely. It is sturdy, well engineered, adjustable in height and angle.I am quite happy with.

But is does take some assembly. Not being a handyman it took me a while to assemble. All the parts are separately bagged and labeled. The screws come in individual packets clearly labeled but there are 10 packets with are 60+ screws and such (don't open one until you need it!). The screw driver is small and hard to use so I used my ratchet screwdriver set which include the exact Phillips size needed (all screws use the same size Phillips).

The instructions are generally clear, tell you what parts you need in each step, and give you a diagram of the step.

But step #13 and #14 should be #1! Part 18, the draw panel, has a back and a front which is not mentioned in the instructions. If you get it backwards like I did then the metal plate for the magnetic lock is on the wrong side and the piece is firmly in place! You have to look for two tiny "pin pricks" where the plate is installed and they should be on the inside, the knob on the outside!

When all is said and done, though, I like the stand. Its the best one I've seen for the price. It is sturdy and does not tip easily.

I have been through several laptop carts and this one is the best. I was a little nervous about getting chocolate, as not sure exactly what the shade of brown would look like.
Well, the color is exactly as seen, a very nice deep professional looking brown which fits my office well. The tilting top is very comfortable and the stop for the laptop so that it does not fall off has saved me a couple times.
The storage is great, so that I have everything I need as I move from room to room.

Best Option For Starter Standing Desk With Only A Few Issues

These may be factory seconds, given that the price has been so low, however, I am writing this assuming that there is a standard quality they should meet in order to be packaged for sale.

The unit is not bad, by any measure. It functions and functions as described. That having been said, the Chocolate coloring is not paint (and I think we all know it isn't stain) but actually a PVC or poly-vinyl coating that has been sprayed on like paint. As such, there are some hairs and fibers, dust particles, etc. that will be permanently under this coating that you will never be free of, as with many products of this type. It is no worse on this unit than any I've purchased of this type and may actually be better on that front.

The PVC however, does scratch easily and, therefore, will arrive with scratches due to the standard Ikea type packaging of each piece separated only by a thin sheet of foam fabric or a waxy type of tissue paper. It etches, has oddly sticky places (due to melting) and the like, and the scratches are random in that some pieces were packed to keep the right side more protected but some were not. These imperfections can be cleaned gently with water and the pad of your finger and then a microfiber cloth (remember it is PVC so standard abrasives and even paper towels are out) or they can be left alone which is probably the safest option. Either way, you will see them up close but not from far away or even a few feet away if the room is not in full sunlight. Oddly, the instructions say to keep the unit out of full sunlight (presumably to prevent PVC melting), so this shouldn't bother you too much.Read more ›
