I purchased this 6 Mts. ago and it's exceeded my expectations. The price is unbeatable for all the features offered. No, it is not a Rolles-Royce, more a Volkswagon:

* The assembly was simple enough. The instructions are among the best I've used.
Note: I think the screw holes are designed to be narrow so that the threads will have more material to grip rather than strip out the hole. As I unpacked it I felt it was thoughtfully designed.

* Shelves are pretty cool. (I have about 45 lb. of books in them and another 15 lb. on the top). No, it does not hold every shape and size of book I own. Few bookcases are meant to.

* The metal quality is good enough and sturdy. The extenders easily tighten in place and have not slipped even when I've leaned on the top. They will scratch, of course, most do, but they are effective & provide height options which is my preference.

* Probably the 44" listed is the safest max. height (I prefer 41"), although lowest height listed is 35" the tray will actually go as low as 28" (including wheels) so keep that in mind. It would be a tall end-table if use for that purpose.

* Fully extended, the top feels a bit wobbly but it's sturdy enough ~this is not a solid wood podium. The fixtures are a bit flimsy but I am careful and I do not over tighten them. And perhaps, I happen to have the improved versions.

* The can roll smoothly over carpet without feeling like it might tip over and each wheel can be locked to keep it in place on a wood floor.

* It is reasonably easy to lift, pack away, and will fit in any car except the itty-bitty ones.

* The bottom and middle portions have good weight and balance.

I was looking for an adjustable-height laptop stand because I have back problems and can't sit at the computer for very long. I also work in the OR where we use movable, adjustable COWs (computer on wheels). Those workstands are compact, easy to adjust and are hundreds of dollars. I also looked at the stands that look like hospital over-the-bed stands but they looked a little "tippy". So I bought this Techni Mobili cart because it looked like what I wanted, it adjusted to over 44 inches and there were great reviews.

I bought this from the Walmart website and had it shipped free to the nearest store for a great price. It arrived in less than a week. It came in a flat, compact box and was easy to lift. The instructions were very clear and the parts were bagged, labeled and correct in number. They even had spare parts and a little screwdriver. It took less than 15 minutes for my husband and I to put together. We cheated because we used power tools. It fit together very well and looks good considering it's made from MDF. It's sturdy, moves around easily (I use it on carpet) and the adjustable height feature works very smoothly. There's a shelf for my coffee mug and a bottom storage compartment too. It doesn't look or feel cheap or flimsy.

I'm way more productive standing while working at this laptop stand. I highly and happily recommend this little gem. You can't beat it for the price!

we needed a laptop stand for use at the desk or as a podium...and this was it..
for that it works quite well. It is NOT fine furniture, it is plastic wrapped over mdf. But from a distance and for the cost, this rates a ****
I would pay more for a nicer material one, but the design is good. Ours has lasted through several presentations, lectures, moves and oops...knocked it overs

Here are my thoughts

Pros:
Interesting, functional design (Storage!)
Good price
Adjustable height
Mobile (and easy to move around)
Small Footprint (much smaller than I thought it was from the photo - And no, I didn't read the dimensions that well)
Fairly quick and easy assembly
Looks good for MDF. I prefer good price over real wood.

Cons:
A little too high to use it while sitting on the couch. If it weren't for this, I'd have given it 5 stars. Waiting on my wireless keyboard and mouse, that might make it work better for me.
Had some trouble with screws/bolts. No way I could get them in with that little screwdriver they sent so I used the power screwdriver. Some of them didn't go in exactly straight.
Installation instructions took some studying before I finally figured them out.

Hints:
Yes, use a power screwdriver where you can.
For the wheels, I put the screws in with the power tool, removed them, then screwed them in by hand (couldn't get the power tool around the wheels but couldn't get those self tapping screws in with just the screwdriver, either.)
Put the screwdriver in the holes for the bolts and kind of twirl it around to make the holes the right size. The covering on the MDF is VERY tough and it's difficult to line up those bolts if the holes haven't been enlarged ahead of time.

Observations:
Took me about an hour to put the thing together. This includes studying the instructions and searching for the power screwdriver. Once I figured it out, it went pretty quickly.
One person (even I!) can easily assemble it.
Mine showed up in perfect condition (with wrapping on everything). No scratches or dings.
Perfect to put my laptop on, store it by the couch and move it into place when I want to use it.

All in all, a very good product for the money.
