Great Bag as long as ur not trying to stuff too many books into it!

I was looking for a good bag and this definitely fits that category. Now the reason i gave it three stars is because although u may find reviews about the space and size of the bag, let me tell you that the bag DOES NOT FIT A LOT OF THINGS WIDTH WISE. This means that for the student (I am a high school senior and I am heading off to college), it is difficult to fit a lot of books inside without stacking. This results in another problem, where the access of the books located on the bottom because quite a chore. So if you are looking for a bag with space for a lot of books, look elsewhere.

Although this may seem like a big complaint, it is my only gripe. This bag is fantastic!
The bag looks awesome, if you are looking for something urban and minimalistic yet utilitarian, this is your bag, i really like the cinch closing system on the top.

Laptop protection is really good, the portion for your laptop is treeco coated so no scratches, there is a decent amount of padding, but the best and most ingenious design is the way the pouch for the laptop is positioned above the bottom of the bag. Your laptop is nowhere near the bottom of the bag, making it impossible to damage your expensive laptop when you throw your bag to the ground unintentionally. This design is possible through the use of one big backpiece that is rather solid and I believe made of eva impact foam. This material also means it hugs the contours of your body when you wear it.

All in all, this bag is great if you're trying not to stuff to many books into it like I am.

Fine bag from Timbuk2

Picked up this gem after a watching a review on YouTube. I've been looking for a EDC bag to go from work/gym/home for a while. Its pretty versatile bag. Lots of pockets, straps as well as large space for clothes, shoes and padded pocket for a laptop (I think up to 15" but I haven't tested it out). It's not too large, but can hold a surprising amount--I recently took it on a two-day business trip (casual attire). I was wary about the buckle/velcro flap but I find it expandable and easy to get in and out of. Overall, very good quality, rugged--been using it and I'm happy.

Great durable and deep bag.

I got this bag because my school bag was too small and the bag I use for cycling was just canvas on the back which got very hot very quickly.
This bag was able to fix both of these things and I use it now when I cycle for work, school or recreation.

The bags metal clasp is nice and easy to lock and unlock the bag from being securely closed. Once unlocked there is some Velcro that holds the roll top part down, but there is no zipper or anything that closes it completely.
One of my favourite parts of this bag is the padded laptop compartment. This compartment, which is raised to also protect your belongings if you dropped your bag, has 2 slots for electronics. This is perfect as I can fit my surface pro 3 in one slot and in the other I can fit my Nexus 7, my wireless mouse, and my active stylus.
The front pouch of the bag is big and has a mesh pocket to help keep things a bit organized. while there is another pocket on the top that can also fit something the size of an iPad mini or a nexus 7.
The front Velcro strap on the bag is great at holding my U-lock and I've already attached some carabineers and molle straps.
Lastly, I really like the side water bottle holder. Its not significant, but it looks really nice and can even hold my Nalgene.

Pros:
Deeeeeeeep and expandable bucket.
Rear zipper to easily grab electronics.
feels like high quality and very durable (I can confidently bike with this in the Vancouver Rain)
Nice water bottle side pocket.
Molle loops and U Lock holder on bag exterior.
Bottle opener is a cool and unique touch.

Cons:
Shoulder straps feel a little tight (touch my neck). This doesn't bother me that much and I've forgotten about it now, but I have had other bags in the past that were much tighter and it would bother me too much. If you have a really thick neck this may irritate some people.

I use the Thimbuk2 Spire backpack for my daily commutes on my bike in all weather. The pack is very roomy and large enough to carry a change of clothes, a 15" laptop, or an XL jacket when it gets too hot or stops raining. The construction is also excellent for those who are tired of being burdened by a lot of zippers. There is one frontal compartment for keys, wallets, pens, etc., then there is a the large compartment which is protected by a leathery flap fastened by a metal clasp to keep it secure.

Sturdy Pack

This is my second Timbuk2 pack (my first was a messenger bag), and like the first, this one is very sturdy. It will likely still be serviceable for years.

The pack contains a relatively large general purpose pack area (1953 cubic inches according to Timbuk2's website). There is a lot of usable space in the pack, but I've found that the storage space to be good in the height and width, but a bit tight in the depth. In addition to my laptop and iPad, I can cram a binder, a container for my cables, and a large text book. Beyond that, and I found it difficult to cram more stuff in. Since one of my complaints about my messenger bag was that I crammer too much stuff in it and that it was too heavy, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Carrying too much stuff weighs me down, but there are times when I'd have preferred less height, or more depth in the main storage area so I can choose to weigh myself down if I need to.

The built in sleeves that protect my laptop (15" Macbook Pro) and my iPad are well designed and provide a good amount of protection to the sensitive machines. The sleeves are lined with soft fabric that won't scratch the surfaces of your valuable electronics. Not only that, but the bottom of the sleeves are actually above the bottom of the pack, so if you end up dropping the pack, there is more protection.

My one real complaint is that the padding between my laptop and my back could be a bit softer. The pack provides good protection for the contents of the pack, not so good for my back. This isn't really an issue if you're just slinging this over your shoulder while walking from one class to the next, but if you're going to be wearing this pack for an extended period of time, this could be an issue.
