Do not buy this bag as it is very poorly made. I used it to carry my laptop a few times and the handle came off

I did a lot of research before buying this case like I do for most products I buy. It seems like the main complaints people had was that it smelled bad, the handles were useless (more on this later), and that it didn't fit their laptop properly. It seems like the best thing to do for this review is to address the issues that could stop people from buying it.

Let's start with the smell. When I opened the package there was a strong smell from the case, it almost smelled like new shoes. Don't most new fabric items smell like...new? All it is is a "new" smell, it doesn't smell bad and would certainly not stop me from purchasing this again. Let's move on to the handles. I'm not sure I understand the though behind these handles, if you want to zip up the case the whole way, which is the whole point of having a case with a zip, then the handles are useless. Now, if you zip up the case all the way around to the handles then they work, but I'm not sure why they'd put them inside the case? I'd like to hear TopCase's thinking behind this. Next, the fitting of the case. It fit my MacBook Air 2014 model perfectly. I have a TopCase hard case on it and it fits just about as well as it could.

Now, here's something that did bug me that I didn't read in any of the negative reviews, the pockets on the front are all but useless, they don't stick out any so the most you can (comfortably) fit in them is a piece of paper. There's no space to fit anything in. You can fit the charger in there but it is a tight fit and I wouldn't want the charger digging in to the MacBook while traveling.

Overall it's a pretty good case for the money. In fact, it's not even a case, it's a sleeve. I wouldn't use this as the only protection if I was traveling with my MacBook, I would put it in a backpack or some other bag. Good case with a few small setbacks but for $10 not bad at all.

Work Well - Smells Funky

When this product arrived, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't fit my MacBook, as it looked small.

But...when I put my laptop inside... BINGO...like a glove.

My only gripe about this product is the intense chemical smell that accompanied it. It smelled VERY strong. So strong that you could smell it from several feet away.

I have had this case hanging outside on a clothesline for the past few days. Although the smell has dissipated, it is not completely gone.

Don't Buy... really not worth.

I bought this bag to easily carry my mac from my home to car that's it. At very first time when i put my mac in and try to lifted ,it broke down. my left handle came off. The material is very very cheap. Please do not buy this bag as it is very poorly made. I was very disappointed as i was expecting bit more. It looks good until you touch it. :)

Solid Case

Solid case. Does exactly what the description says and also fits my macbook pro 13" perfectly. I bought the case in the turquoise color and it does seem like it could get dirty pretty easily but thats no big deal.

Update almost 2 weeks later,
From the beginning the case smelled pretty bad, but i figured it would go away. The smell has yet to go away, changing my review from 4/5 to 3/5. I have stopped using this case and started using a different one because it seemed like the smell became even more apparent and to make it worse, started making my clothing and bag smell. I've seriously been considering throwing it in the wash along with my clothing to see if that would help but I'm afraid of destroying the case.

Perfect fit!

Exactly the protection I was looking for for my Mac Book Air when taking it to school and back in my backpack. As a teacher, it goes home a lot! Even with a Top Case shell on the computer, if I put it in the sleeve with the fat side down and the slim side up, it fits beautifully! And the techies at work were impressed by the price of both the shell and the sleeve. Yes, it stinks at first, but it goes away after a bit.
