I replaced my charger that came with the computer because it was ripping. I got this new one and within several months I had to replace it. I took my computer in thinking it has to be the computer, I just got a new charger, and nope!! It was the charger. He said they sold my a used charger.

Short but Works

This cord replaced the OEM cord that came with my Toshiba a665-3dv11x. That cord unfortunately ripped at the end that plugs into the computer.

Now to get on with the review of this cord, first it works as advertised! It charges the computer and plugs in perfectly. For that I give it five stars. After all, that is it's primary purpose.

The only reason I knocked off a star is due to the length of the product. More directly, the length of the cord that plugs into the laptop that goes to the power brick. The original cord was around six feet from the part that plugs into the laptop, tot he power brick. OVerall the cords was almost 12.5 feet. Which really gave you quite a bit of flexibility on computer placement. This cord is much shorter. IN fact the part that plugs into the computer to the power brick is not the original 6 feet (72 inches) but rather only 43 inches (3ft 7 inches) and the whole cord is about 93 inches (7ft 9 inches). Now let me tell you why this is a problem.

If you are like most people you plug your laptop in at a coffee table or a desk. The desk is about 3 feet off the ground and coffee table about 2 feet off the ground. With such short length of cord you will have to have the power brick hanging in mid air. This is due to it not having enough reach to touch the ground. WHile that may not seem like a big deal at first, you must consider where the strain of the cable is going. The strain it causes it right on the part of the plug that plugs into the laptop. Stated differently, it place an unnecessary strain on the charging port of the laptop and bends the cable in such a way, that you know it will someday break at this point. So not only does it cut down on flexibility, but also longevity of the product.Read more ›

Toshiba compatible charger - Almost compatible

This charger provide 19.7V instead of 19V. As it comes from the box, it did not succeeded to charge the battery. It did provide enough power for the battery to maintain the same power level, when the computer is on. I changed the power cable that comes with it to a thicker cable, and than it has enough power to charge. Seems that the power cable that comes with it is too thin.
it deserved 2 1/2 starts at most.

I ordered this for my ASUS Q502L hoping that it would work and it did! The one downside compared to the OEM charger is that it is a bit bulkier and has the brick in between. However, I am ok with it because all my other laptop chargers are like this anyway. I like that the cord is pretty long.

Great spare AC adapter for laptop

Excellent product and wonderful seller. Great communication and shipping was so fast. I love that now there's a power adapter for the laptop bag AND hooked up to the docking station so no more bending/stooping to disconnect the cord when leaving to go out and about with the laptop.
