What I needed at a good price

The charger was not the same as my original, but works fine. It was difficult to find out why different power levels (amps, watts, etc.) were within an acceptable range and Toshiba offered no explaination or help screens to figure it out. It was not the resellers fault and it works fine, so I am completely satisfiied.

Laptop Power Cord

So cheaply made that it tolerated minimal use under less than normal circumstances and broke within a week. A real waste of money. I was desperate for a power source, waited for delivery and ended up having to drive to a not-so-near electronics store to buy a proper replacement. Had I known I would have applied the money spent for this product toward the purchase of a viable option. Why manufacture such junk, except to fool me, hopefully not you, on a one-time sale, unethical!

Toshiba's fault

This is a cheap adapter. Mine has failed after 6 months. Also, Toshiba is committing a huge error by making the computer connection come straight out instead of 90 degrees to the computer plane. With a straight out plug the chances of catching the plug on a table edge or similar item is increased and that puts the solder joint for the internal connector on the mother board at risk. Major repair or just toss the whole computer out. I think the 90 degree jack is preferable.

DID NOT RECEIVE THE POWER ADAPTER WITH PART NUMBER "PA3714U-1ACA". The Power adapter I received works so far with my laptop and appears to be an actual Toshiba product but the fact that it's titled with the part number I actually needed and was sent something else is quite misleading.
