This is not an OEM Toshiba product

After reviewing the pictures (before I submitted my own) and the description, I assumed I was getting an OEM Toshiba charger as depicted in the sellers photograph and the part number. However, this product came in generic packaging, not Toshiba packaging. After opening and looking it over, it was nothing like the photograph of the item provided by the seller. The nomenclature is completely different, the power cord connection is different as are such things as the skew number.

The product gets very hot in use and I dared not continue to use it on my laptop. I took my old one, which is labeled "Toshiba Power Supply" and brought to a computer shop and they soldered a new plug on were it plugs into the laptop. It is working great and I should have done that in the first place.

This is a paper weight to which I paid for overnight shipping which doubled the cost of the item. I have this seller on my blacklist.

I do not recommend this product, it is not as described in both the picture and description.

Stopped working almost immediately

I purchased this product to replace the 4-year old adapter that came with my laptop. It worked fine and I was decently happy with it, despite the fact that the cord is shorter than I would like. After light to moderate usage and no harsh treatment for less than a month, the adapter stopped functioning entirely. It's not the cheapest adapter on Amazon, but had much less functionality than I would expect even from the cheapest on the market.

Fabulous Replacement, Perfect Price

I bought Toshiba replacement AC adapter and cord when my 1 year old son pulled my original to pieces. My laptop was out of commission for two months while I worried about the $85 quote I had received at Staples. It wasn't until a computer repair man recommended that I look online that I slapped myself in the forehead. Of course! Amazon generally has the best prices on everything. This was only $25, just over 1/4 the price of Staples.

This product exceeds all of my expectations. I wouldn't say that it's a replacement as much as another original. There is no quality difference. It is the same part. But the bonus (and this did not come with the computer) is the small black tie bag that fits the cord and adapter perfectly and is a very convenient and compact way to carry them and keep the pieces together.

Received non-functioning charger on original delivery.

I purchased this as a replacement for the OEM charger that was provided with my Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837. When I received the product it came in a "Manila Bubble Mailer Envelope", the charger functioned properly for a few hours then I noticed a intermittent (frequent) "beeping" noise originating from the charger. The next day, I had contacted the seller and they shipped out a replacement charger, shortly after that conversation, the "low battery indicator" on my notebook computer started to flash, I then hovered over the power icon in the notification area of Windows 8 (lower right-hand corner) and it displays the following text "0% available (plugged in, not charging)", so far my experience with this product has been unsatisfactory, however the customer service was handled professionally and in a reasonable response time.

I chose the rating of "2 stars" due to the faulty product (charger) I received upon the original delivery. I am currently awaiting the arrival of the new charger that was shipped, hopefully there are no issues with this "replacement" otherwise I will have to request a refund in full or file a claim.

*UPDATE*
I have received the replacement charger and shortly after use, the same results occurred, a refund has been requested.

Listed below is a "timeline" of activities relating to my experience with this product and "AC POWER".

Please note that this specific charger has always "sparked" when I plugged it into any electrical outlet throughout my home, even when visiting Starbucks.
