I bought this computer after my old laptop gave out at the beginning of a 1 year MBA program. I only expect to use it for a year, but in retrospect I should have spent a little more on a nicer model. This laptop has by far the worst WiFi connectivity of any I have ever used so my practice has become to just plug it into my router at home. At school, I will be frequently unable to connect while classmates are having no trouble. So that's obviously a deal breaker for many people, and I may end up relegating it to the heap even before this year is through. It's also had issues with the track pad suddenly freezing and becoming non-responsive, like either the hardware or driver is bugged (or worse, like the AMD A6 just can't keep up with a pointing device). I'm really surprised and disappointed that Toshiba put a 750GB hard drive into a machine with other basic components that are inadequate. I'd gladly trade 250GB of storage space to access my email reliably. I don't recommend this machine at any price.

This model looks to be built on the standard Toshiba low-end chassis, with a few extra goodies. I wanted a simple machine for the internet and basic Office functions, no gaming or graphics. The Celeron unit probably could have done the job and maybe extended battery use a little because of its low consumption, but I don't use it much outside of home. The faster A6 is nice, the extra 250 GB of HD is a bonus, but the Bluetooth was the main deciding factor. The built-in speakers are very weak so pairing the unit to a bluetooth speaker upgrades the sound beyond any laptop's capability. There's also the option of using a dongle-free BT mouse. (The touchpad, like many laptops I've used, is very sketchy.) Sure, a dongle is only $10 but why bother? What's the premium I would pay for all these extras? For me, $100 over the Celeron seemed about right. Two weeks of usage so far, and I'm fairly satisfied.

I bought this laptop for an extended trip out of the country and it worked well until the end of August, I got it July 30. I used it primarily for business but installed many steam games to keep me occupied. The first thing that concerned me was that while i was watching youtube, it bluescreened. It did this many more times while watching videos. As i didnt have the resources to have the machine fixed where I was at, i dealt with it. The laptop ran my games well at pretty high graphics and ran multiple programs at once decently. After i returned home, it started to bluescreen more and more until one day i started it up and the screen stayed black and the only thing that ran was the fans. Now its basically useless. I read a similar article on this laptop about how the OS crashed, and now this happened to mine in a timeframe close to theirs. If i would of known, i would of shopped elsewhere. Very dissapointed.

The computer kept shutting down the very first time I tried to use it, I returned it because I can't see spending money on something new
that maybe wasn't really new or had issues so soon.

I purchased this from a local retailer, and it ended up being the absolute worst computer I've ever owned.

The most egregious problem was the wireless adaptor kept self-disabling itself. We called our cable company to replace our wireless modem/router, but the problem was just as bad as before. 10 minutes was the longest I could be on the internet before the laptop disconnected me - how frustrating.

The mousepad often tracked poorly and the surface started to wear after just a few weeks.

The speed of the unit was worse than my old laptop, 3 years old (and a cheaper model). Videos would constantly stick, and would have to be reloaded constantly.

Also, the unit came loaded with a zillion applications, none of which I wanted.

I attempted to get warranty service from Toshiba, but just got the runaround and bad information.

I thought Toshiba was a name I could trust and the price seemed right, but this computer is a disaster - I absolutely hate it. Avoid at all costs!
