Netbooks have come a long way...

Compared to all the other netbooks and even the Asus transformer, this device had the specs I wanted. Mostly due to the processor - the end-all in a netbook. The boot up time is still quick even with the non-ssd hard drive.

After updates, removing all the bloatware is a must. The McAfee is terrible... I replaced it with aviria free since it had top tier in resources and doing it's job. Windows defender can be disabled as it's redundant on win8 with aviria.

The drivers for the touchpad also had to go. It would constantly lock up. Just uninstall and remove drivers from the device manager and reboot.

Aside from that, the device has decent value so far (first 48 hours). The price is higher on amazon than in most retail stores ATM (by 40 bucks).

So easy to carry, this is the best laptop I've had. I am using it mostly for school l, but also stream videos often. The touch screen capability is a bonus to an already awesome device. So far so good. The only concern I have is whether I should continue to use windows defender or buy anti-virus. Recommend this to anyone who's looking for 2 in 1. My second Toshiba satellite and prefer this brand over the dells and Hps.

while I was still learning to use it, it froze. in trying to find out what was wrong I found out that it is not backed up by Toshiba because it was made in China. I,m surprised that Amazon doesn't have a disclaimer about this. fortunately I got my computer working again but worry if I had problems I couldn't fix what I would do!!

I use this laptop mostly outdoors. The display is not sunlight readable and is very reflective. Otherwise unit is lightweight with decent size HD. Also wish it had an Ethernet Port so I wouldn't have to use an adapter.

Thank you for the review, new to soy milk maker, and sorry to hear about the networking performance problem with your Satellite Radius L15W-B1320.

I wonder how long you had your laptop when you posted the review and if you've seen any improvement since then. If it was brand new then it's likely that Windows Update has been busy downloading & installing updates. That's typically the case with brand new systems, and if so it will tax initial performance until the updating process is completed. That said, if left turned on and connected to the Internet, the update process should be completed within a day. However, if you elected to upgrade to Windows 10 then it would take longer.

If the system has been turned on and connected to the Internet and the networking performance issue remains then please visit support.toshiba.com or call Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 for troubleshooting help.
