Pretty good laptop.

I like the laptop overall. It is light and super-fast (Core i7). I also like the storage capacity at 2 TB. The think I do not like, which seems like recurring issue is that Toshiba laptops has problems the keyboard. One, the space button continuously adds an extra space in between words when I am typing. Very frustrating to have to do this (I just had to correct three times now as I am typing this). Also, the keyboard will stop working in Google Chrome (it just will not type anything). I have to open up another browser and punch whatever keys and go back to Chrome for the keyboard to work. Not sure if this is a software issue though (Windows 10 glitch?). In any case, I would give it a high 3 or low 4 star rating. The keyboard really is an issue.

Be aware of problem with Toshiba Satellite S55t

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite S55T-C5276 laptop from Staples. It had 5th Gen. Intel Core i7Processor, 12GB RAM, 1TB hardrive, 15.6” touchscreen monitor, and Windows 10. I was very happy until I start using it. From the beginning this laptop was giving me hard time with wireless network connection. One day it connects ok and works fine, next day it connects, but then suddenly switches to a ‘limited access mode’ and cannot connect to the network until I re-connect, and next day it does not even connect from the start and I have to connect manually. It was difficult to use the laptop. I have Verizon FIOS wireless network, a 6 years old HP laptop, a one and half year old Lenovo Yoga laptop and a 7 years old Dell desktop. Never had any problem with a network connection with any of these machines.
On day 10 it stopped working. I login with my prime admin account, created a second user account and tried to login using that account. But when I try, the laptop says that it must be connected to the internet. I login with my prime account, check the network and it says ‘connected’. I try to go online, but it says that it must be connected. I disconnect, and re-connect again. It says ‘connected’, but when I try to do something it gives me a message that I have to be connected to the internet. I could not even brows the internet. I spent 90 minutes trying to troubleshoot and fix the problem, running Windows ‘fix the problem’ program, but it did not work.
So, I returned the laptop to the Staples. The manager in the store spent about 30 minutes checking the laptop and confirmed that it had some problem with a network connection and that it also was kind of slow for its spec.
I had a Toshiba laptop about 10 years ago and it worked fine for many years, until I retired it. This is why I decided to purchase the Toshiba again. But no more Toshiba laptops for me.

I like the memory it has as it is not easy ...

I like the memory it has as it is not easy to find a laptop above 1TB. It does not have a CD drive so that is one of the downfalls. I was trying to download some of my software and was unable to due to that, but luckily most things you can download online so wasn't a huge big deal. It has a nice wide screen and it is a touch screen. Having trouble getting the mouse to work on the key pad, but I use an external one so I adapted to it. Over all I do like it.
