I did a lot of research on computers and tablets the other day and I knew one thing. I wanted a computer that was also a tablet. I am an author and I do a lot of writing and I wanted something easy to transport anywhere I wanted. Most tablets do not run windows and the few that do are not that lovely in my opinion. I almost bought a surface, but thankfully I went to Best Buy and saw one in person first. It was too small and flimsy for my liking.
I never even saw this one on here when I was looking, when we went to Best Buy and saw this I was sold. It is the same size as most laptops. It has a really large screen and best part it has an amazing keyboard. Not those flat thin ones, it is perfect for someone like me who needs a good one for typing.
I love just about everything about it. Especially the touch feature. I love how I can just detach the keyboard and go wherever I want. It has everything I could possibly need and want.
The only thing I think I would say I wish was better would be the sound. The speakers are not that loud. But it's not that big of a deal. But if you are looking for a great sound system this is not it. I haven't really fiddled with the settings too much but as far as I know the sound is not that loud.
I think it is a great buy and I love it.

I just bought this yesterday and am still getting to know it. But so far I am very pleased with it overall. It seems to perform great. Easily accessible. I like the flexibility of being able to use it as a tablet or a laptop. It reattaches to the keyboard easily and I haven't really had any problems navigating around it. I'm really enjoying it and I feel that it was a good purchase.

This looks great, feels great, but it isn't great. It is slow. That's my only complaint. Anything that I try to do that is more than typing is slow. Youtube is slow. Email is slow. Opening a PDF is slow. Not sure if it is the computer, Windows 8.1 or a combo, but it is slow slow slow.

This is a poor computer and a worse tablet, it's the worst of both worlds with a laptop that is slower than my four year old Toshiba protégé and a tablet that is four times heavier and less convenient than anything on the market. It is slow and lags, the touchscreen can't keep up with basic news reading online with a good Internet connection.

I purchased this product at a local best buy when it was first available. I regret that decision entirely, especially when my old ASUS laptop (with the exception of a touch screen) performs faster and has considerably less bugs. Some of the specs for this product aren't half bad, but as i'm sure other reviewers have noted, these specs are deceiving (battery life is AWFUL for example) they are coupled with the exquisite burden of windows 8.1. Currently upgrading to windows 10 TP to resolve issues with the OS but i doubt it will fix bugs on the Toshiba side :( definitely watch some YouTube videos before purchasing so you know what you're getting into! But hey, it DOES make a fantastic paperweight!

I love the size of the screen when using the tablet portion by itself. Nice, bright screen when watching videos in the car during the day. I was also looking for the ability to use expandable memory, and run more production like utilities and not just have a game and movie system. However, I have a lot of issues when using the internet that the system will lock up or be very slow to respond. That drives me crazy! Windows does not have very many of the apps that Apple and Google have and they are certainly not the most commonly known apps they are substitutes. Windows 8 takes a lot of adjustment to manipulate. Learning how to move around without closing apps is not very user friendly and trying to keep multiple apps open and flip between them is not very easy. I have also lost the use of my mouse pad while the keyboard is connected??? Over all, I like the concept of the laptop/tablet combination, but I think this model has a long way to go.

Where to start with how horrible this product is? The machine has two batteries, one in the base and one in the screen or tablet for that matter. I travel quite a bit and always have this in a case. After about 4 months of having the laptop, I noticed that only one battery was registering when I charged the computer. I thought it may be an issues with a bad battery, so I got in touch with Toshiba and had one sent my way. After I installed it, I thought that would be the end of it but it wasn't. About 3 months later, the battery failed again. I called Toshiba about 3 days in a row, sat on the phone for more than an hour each time, and received little to no help. They kept asking me to send my computer in, but I repeatedly let them know that was not an option since I use this computer for work daily. I decided that I would battle with the computer until I was able to afford a new one later this year. Also not to mention the terrible design and poor weight distribution. The screen is much heavier than the base so it cause the housing in the base to crack to due the stress on the material from just opening the screen normally. So a few days ago in April 2015 after I've had the laptop for I go to turn on my computer and it is stuck on the Toshiba loading screen. With how horrible my experience with Toshiba was in the past, I decided to take it to a local computer repair. The repair shop told me that they don't know why it crashed and that it has an extremely odd connector on the hard drive which makes it difficult to pull my files off of. He had to order a special part from China just to save all of my data. Bottom line, DO NOT buy this laptop. I will more than likely never purchase a Toshiba product again.
