This thing cools off my laptop! It really works!
If you have a laptop that winds up and makes a lot of fan noise, this should solve that noise problem. Once your laptop starts making loud fan noises and you can feel heat when you put your hand near the slots, you certainly need one of this.
When I first opened up the box I thought it would be difficult to set up but it was actually very easy. Not to mention there is a detailed instruction manual included in it. Plus, reading through some of the great reviews, I was able to install without problem.
Once you set it up, it works like a charm! My laptop used to scream any time I play video games or watch a movie, now within a short time, the computer fan slowed way down and no longer made a lot of noise.
This thing doesn't use a lot of power, my laptop actually got quiet and did not strain, so it won't kill your battery. But I guess it could only works on laptops with side vents.
Overall, this solves a nasty problem with a lot of laptops, they will be a lot quieter and run a lot cooler.

I think this is a must for any laptop, because it keeps the laptop nice and cool. I have a strong but quickly overheating laptop. I noticed that it does indeed get hot, especially during gaming. However, when I installed this Cooler, my laptop does not seem to heat up at all (it still gets warm, but does not heat up to a significant temperature), even during gaming. As for sound, you can definitely hear it when it gets to the higher speeds. But it is kind of nice, because you can really "feel" the cooling action. It's not distracting nor annoying, so that's also a plus. Finally, it is definitely better than a cooling pad. I think cooling pads only really work because they elevate your laptop and circulate the air below it (which is not effective at all). This cooler circulates the air INSIDE your laptop, making it a better cooler overall. I will definitely recommend this item, and purchase one for every new laptop I will get in the future. A must have!

I have had this for a couple weeks now and love it. Most of the cooling fans go under the computer and miss where my laptop heats. This fan literally sucks the heat away. I turn off my computer and it is cool to the touch. There is a cheaper version of this style which I bought a couple years, it connected with a crappy clamp that I would fight with each time I used it. The interface piece conforms to your computer. It was very self-explanatory to use, I didn't need the instructions. The actual cooler itself is nicely constructed but a bit smaller than imagined. This item is left-and-right adjustable as well as up-and-down adjustable. This characteristics enable it perfectly fit with your PC air outlet. With the button of the item, the cooling speed is also adjustable. Besides, with power supply from USB hub connection and noise killer, it is easy to carry with and could be used even in the library. So quiet and so small and exquisite! Love this item so much!

The installation is a bit involved because you have to choose the most fitting silicon air seal for your laptop's heat exhaust, fit its elastic lip over the USTEK's air intake and place it snugly against the laptop's heat exhaust, then carefully position the bottom plate adhesive to the best position for your laptop, as well as use the two spring clamps to grip the top of the exhaust area.

Once installed, the USTEK is quite secure, so as long as you don't accidentally hit it with force, it shouldn't fall off, and you should be able to more your laptops around without worrying about the USTEK falling off. If you need to transport your laptop in a bag, you can remove the USTEK fairly easily and quickly by turning the two spring clamps and slide the bottom plate out from the sheathe that's adhered to the bottom of the exhaust area. You can then toss the USTEK in your laptop bag's extra pocket. Reattaching the USTEK is just reversing the process.

An excellent product; genuinely cools off my laptop, with amazing construction quality for reasonable price. This product works great unlike others that never worked properly from the get go and burned out in a very short period of time. The automatic speed switching works very well. This product has to be powered via mini-usb in order to function (no battery), but this simply isn't an issue. I also like that the design looks that kind sturdy. I have had so many chances to use it, and I'm sure it will work for a long time and flawlessly, seeing how it looks and feels very well constructed. Something is telling me with their detailed product information, I am confident that this would of great quality and use for anyone who have a laptop. I have a Samsung laptop, and during the summer months, the internal fan always sounded and felt like it was over-worked continuously, and the internal temperature sometimes get up to worrying levels. That made it the perfect candidate for the USTEK laptop cooler.

In the past, I used laptop stands, but they mainly benefit ergonomics and only offer minor help with heat issues. I tried adding a small portable USB-powered fan to blow at the heat exhaust, and while it worked, the fan can't be secured to the laptop or used when not on a flat surface. I then started using laptop cooling pads, and they are fine if you're only using them on a desktop and don't have to carry them around with your laptop, or that you don't mind having the height of your laptop's keyboard raised. But if you carry your laptop around and don't want the additional bulk/height of cooling pads, then this little USTEK is a great alternative.
