I wonder about the reviews from other buyers. This is small, cheap and not sturdy. This is a pure laptop riser meant to be used on the desk. It is not comfortable to use it on your lap and not safe to keep it on expensive leather couch. The bottom is not cushioned or soft. If anyone looking for one to use it on your lap, look for something else .

Update: This piece of crap is in trash. ( broken ) within few wks. Do not buy this.

The product arrived about a week after I ordered it and securely wrapped to protect the stand. It is absolutely PERFECT for my laptop. This stand allows plenty of airspace for my laptop fan to run smoothly and cooler on my desk. I especially like the way it elevates my laptop screen higher than just having it flat on my desk so I can see it more at eye level. And, it securely holds my laptop in place - very solid. Don't buy something way more expensive that will plug into a USB port, eat up your power and disappoint you. Buy this product instead. This stand exceeded my expectations and it is FANTASTIC for the price. I will definitely buy from this seller again.

Not for 17 inch laptop

Do not buy this for a 17 inch. It fits but when the laptop is open it tends to topple over backwards. I have to wedge something under the rear to stabilize it.Very frustrating.

Nice idea and light

Good piece of kit for use with my laptop because it raises it to a better typing angle. This is the second one I've ordered - this one is for my Mum.

There is a choice of several viewing angles, so there's sure to be one you like.

Good price as well. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is, even though both items came in its own sealed box, they are ever so slightly warped - one from back to front, the other from left to right. This doesn't detract from their purpose and use but it means that their manufacturing process and/or storage isn't quite what it should be. What it does do however, is make the ball bearings inside the swivel bit, come out of their little retainers and rattle around. I have never used the swivel bit anyway and just took a screwdriver, unscrewed the swivel bit and removed the ball bearings, and put the round swivel bit back. Hey presto no annoying rattling when I pick everything up,at once (laptop and stand together).

Don't let my negative comment put you off though, it's still very good. I just felt I had to, in all fairness, mention it. I'd certainly buy another one if called for.
