This item arrived very quickly and was much thinner than expected (the picture makes it look at least twice as thick). the ad also called it polyurethane but the package says silicone and it feels like silicone.

Make sure the keyboard area is clean and dust free and the cover will automatically adhere to it like saran wrap.

The only thing I don't like about it is it won't fit my 15.6 in laptop, but I knew this before hand and bought 2, and cut them to fit. I even made a small square for the touch pad, which still works through the cover, but for multi-touch pads, you'll lose some function. TIP: Cut the cover while it is still on the cardboard backing.

Some information on the package not given here:
It's heat resistant against spills, but allows for heat release of the laptop
Cleans with direct flushing with water and gentle rubbing
Does not distort or yellow after long term use or washing

So I ordered this protector and it was shipped out and in my hands two days later so props to them on the shipping.. however thats where the good news ends. Yeah its easy to "install" (or should I say easy to lay it on top of my keys...) but it is no where near long enough to be called universal. I have a 15.6 Acer laptop and it covers my keyboard and only half of my number pad which is part of the whole keyboard itself, no space in between. I would say if it was two inches longer it would a perfect fit. However, it builds up static so every little piece of anything near my computer sticks to it. And as I type it builds up air bubbles and I find myself constantly picking it up and laying it back out. Its more of a hassle than anything. Ive also noticed that it holds heat in and gets very warm. That cant be good for my computer. I would definitely NOT recommend this product.

PS: Totally NOT worth the $14 or the discounted price that I paid of $4.36.... This reminds me of something I would find in the dollar store marked down to .50 cents.

I Spend a great amount of time outside on my deck with my laptop, and living in the country i have lots of trees, so i have all kind of things falling and blowing around, so I wanted something that would protect my keyboard, from allowing things from getting in between the keys and that. This is perfect, easy to put on, take off, clean and the price is right. Something so cheap can save me a lot of money in the long run!

Now I must find a keyboard protector protector

After cleaning the silicone skin it no longer stays in place on the keyboard and air can move if off easily.

It gets Hair stuck to it like a magnet and underneath it which is no good.
These universal protectors are a waste of money. Better to try and get one that fits your keyboard exactly, you might still have the hair problem but less so, and it will stay put rather than sliding about.

took forever to get in, wasn't what i ordered. different from the picture, was a form fitting keyboard cover not a skin-like cover i was expecting to be able to use on multiple models. fits nothing i have, out of 10+ models! looks specific to a compaq or hp model computer.
