For those of you who are already using a tablet of some sort, you'll be right at home with this machine. I'm running Win8.1 Enterprise on it and couldn't be happier with its performance and overall enhancement to my workday. I LOVE being able to use the on-screen touch keyboard for quick purposes, and using this machine is breaking my dependence on the mouse.

This machine comes pre-loaded with Win8 Home, which meant I had to blow it away in order to use it for work. For users who plan to join to a domain, know this ahead of time. Do yourself a favor and save the ASUS SmartGesture files for the touchpad, else your life will be a pain with the touchpad until you download the software from the vendor, more on that below.

Be advised: this machine does NOT come with a CD/DVD drive, though it is mentioned in the product description. If this is a deal-breaker, look for another touchscreen laptop. This machine is very thin and very light, and there is no room for any optical drive.

It'd be a good starter machine for someone who's accustomed to tablets. Leaping into this setup after only knowing desktops or traditional laptops, ehhhh...I won't lie: Win8/8.1 has a learning curve. I've used every version Microsoft OS since Win3.1, and I have to say, this one took me a while to get the hang of, but now that I do, I LOVE IT. Win8.1 and this touchscreen laptop are a fantastic couple.

PROS:
1. Very lightweight, excellent if you have to tote it around all day or if it's on your back as you're barreling through an airport.
2. Works seamlessly with Win8.1 and Office365.
3. Great sound quality for listening to music, presentations, or doing meetings over VOIP.

Love, with a couple minor glitches.

I love this computer, especially for the price. Windows 8 sucks and definately takes some getting used to but after you learn to navigate around it, it isn't too bad. i suggest purchasing some sort of tech support so if you can't figure out how to do something, you can just take it into best buy.

The computer does hold very long of a charge, but i haven't had that be a problem and the speaker is a little quiet, but headphones makes that an easy and cheap fix.

I have downloaded everything I need to for college, and have had trouble navigating the downloads but all went smoothly after awhile. Even after all the stuff I needed, the computer still runs pretty fast. Good for watching netflix and for college students!

Great, but at times Bad.

This laptop is in many aspects great, but in some just horrible. The reason I rated 4 and not 3 is because the good overshadows the bad and this is why. I purchased this laptop mid December, 2013 and at first glance I was extremely impressed, but soon after I realized that there were a few things that turned out to be quite annoying. For about 2 months, everything was going great until out of no where the internet would stop working. Even though it was still connected, I realized the connection switched to limited. Every so often the internet will just stop working and I will have to open the internet connection tab until it kicks back on. As you can imagine this process can be quite tedious and extremely annoying. Now this doesn't happen everyday or week, but when it does I just want to throw the laptop at the wall. The other problem I've had with this device is that once in a blue moon it will just shut down without warning, and that is also extremely annoying. Now to get to the good, because I've always been a bad news first type of guy. This computer is pretty fast in all aspects from start up to opening applications. It only takes about 10 seconds for this thing to boot up and that is pretty impressive. This comp is also very sleek, smooth and compact. The keyboard is very responsive as well as the touch screen capability. It honestly feels just as responsive as any tablet or even a lot of phones. The sound it produces is also pretty loud and clear and like most people on here describe it is extremely quite and produces very little heat. Windows 8 is interesting because at first I despised it, but after a little exploring and keeping an open mind, it is quite useful for multitasking and speed. Overall this computer deserves a 4 and would be 5 if i didn't experience any problems. Hope this helps.

Good Overall Laptop

As with any other laptop there are both good and bad things with the ASUS VivoBook. I love the touchscreen functionality and the keyboard. I think the mouse pad is a little bit oversized, but some people might like it that way. It was quite a bit heavier than I was expecting, but it won't be too hard to get used to. I was also expecting it to feel a little more metalic, but it feels like a heavy plastic. Overall, it is a good laptop and I would recommend it to friends.

This is a decent laptop.

This laptop is thin and light, the keyboard is comfortable so far.

The design is very nice and everything is working perfectly, the touchscreen is awesome,the batterylife is good. The price is also good.

So far everything is OK, I recommend the laptop.
