Works as advertised, but started to fail after less than 2 months

Appears to work as advertised. My core temps are down from above 90 degrees under moderate CPU load to below 70 deg C (and I'm not even running the Walsoon fan at full speed). Obviously I need to fix the overheating problem at the source but this little device has bought me time and allowed me to keep working and fix the problem on my own schedule.
There's room for improvement in terms of apparent construction quality but then again it wasn't expensive.
Update 2015-02-17: It's now not quite two months old, and the fan is starting to exhibit harmonic imbalance and noise at higher speeds. Classic symptoms of the fan beginning to fail. Based on my read of a few other reviews, I suspect the fan is of below average build quality. It got me out of a jam, but seems destined for the trash can soon.

Not a bad idea, in theory

Not a bad idea, in theory. My laptop (HP HDX 18) just didn't quite fit with any of the silicone adapters - the larger two came close, but none quite got there. I'm not sure what they used to base it on, but it's very clearly intended for laptops with vents at a specific height, with no tilt, and without cable ports near said vents. An extension sleeve of some form would've helped me significantly. A flexible one would make a world of difference, but I can't say that it's an oversight for the price.

It did *sorta* work with some finagling, but the fan is noisy for what airflow it produces. The potentiometer could also use some tuning - it seems to adjust very gradually, until you get to the last 10-20% of its range, at which point adjusting it even slightly can result in a marked change in fan speed. Once you get past "I could blow harder than this," adjusting it can be a real pain.

Overall, it seems a bit bulky for what it does, and the design seems like it focuses more on aesthetics than function (and I'm not fond of the aesthetics.) I might try it out again someday, but at the moment, it's a paperweight for me.

Best for my laptop.

I have had this for a couple weeks now and love it it. Most of the cooling fans go under the computer and miss where my laptop heats. This fan literally sucks the heat away. I turn off my computer and it is cool to the touch. There is a cheaper version of this style which I bought a couple years, it connected with a crappy clamp that I would fight with each time I used it. The blue soft plastic piece conforms to your computer. It was very self explanatory to use, I didn't need the instructions.

Works better than more expensive coolers

This works pretty well. One of the several ducts fit my laptop perfectly, and on the highest setting, it keeps the computer cool indefinitely. Since my keyboard tends to shut down when the laptop heats up, I'm really happy with this device. A couple of other "coolers" didn't do the trick. I run it at the highest level, and it does put out a lot of air. There's some noise, but it's not bothersome to me. I agree that the adhesive isn't the best approach. I used some Velcro to make it removable and that works fine for me.

For the price, it's pretty good solution. If you don't plan on moving the laptop around a lot, you'd probably give it five stars.

Great Idea. Poorly executed.

I hated this. It broke after about 2-3 weeks of use. I liked the idea that it sucked the hot air away from the computer and that you can adjust the settings for the fan.
I did not like the little sticky 2 sided tape they give you. It's just not enough to keep this attached to your laptop. Also the USB cable is very flimsy and the wires became exposed in just a few uses.

I liked the concept of the product where it just sucks the hot air away from the computer and the fact that you can adjust the fan settings to your liking. I thought it was way too big and the two sided sticky tape that came with the product didn't keep it attached very well.

Saved my Laptop

It's one more item that I have to keep track of, but it keeps my Thinkpad E540 from melting the CPU. This fan, when attached to the exhaust port, drops the operating temperature by about 10 degC.

I run Xubuntu 14.04 and the internal fan doesn't seem to run. I can't find a fix. All of the Lenovo software for the E540 runs on Windoze and not Linux. Thinkfan doesn't work on the E540. I haven't tried running the drivers through WinE yet. This fan works so well, that I haven't really felt like spending hours on trying to fix the onboard.
