Very good laptop for a cheap price.

I bought this laptop from Best Buy. I was a little worried about the size at first but it's perfect. The laptop is very well designed and looks and feels more premium. The display is much smaller than others but it actually looks better than the ones in this price range. The display is bright and clear, my only complaint about it is that the viewing angles aren't very good. The touchscreen is very responsive, but don't get any moisture on it because it will freak out on you and do crazy stuff. The keyboard is well designed and is very easy to use. The keyboard isn't as cheap feeling as the other laptops in this price range. The processor in this laptop does a good job. I wouldn't say great, but i wasn't expecting great. The speed is very fast in loading apps and going through the user interface. When browsing the internet i noticed a little bit of lagging, but nothing bad. When playing games from the Windows store, it doesn't do a very good job, as expected. Some games will play well if the don't have any kind of 3D graphics. Windows 8.1 runs well on this laptop even though i'm not a fan of Windows 8 as it is a bit harder to get used to and do certain things than the other versions of Windows. This laptop is a very well made laptop and is very dependable. I would definitely recommend this to a student who needs it to do more basic things. If you area gamer or a photo and video editor, I wouldn't recommend this to you as the processor and ram won't be able to handle those kind of programs.

Pleasantly Surprised!!

I was looking for an inexpensive laptop to use in my real estate business. I had a Chromebook but it just wouldn't do quite everything I needed it to do.Being on a tight budget I instantly gravitated to this laptop in BestBuy. I wasn't sure the touchscreen would be useful or if it was more of a gimmick.I haven't had a windows based laptop or computer in years and wasnt to sure about the new Windows 8.After getting it home unboxing it and spending a few hours learning how to navigate the new OS I have fallen in love with it. It is so nice to be able to use the touch screen to navigate around in maps when locating properties for clients. The computer feels much more solid than I expected it to as well. I notice a slight amount of lag when browsing the web occasionally but that may be my connection. I was planning on using this until I could afford a Macbook but I like this so much I think I will just keep it until I wear it out. I was unsure about the screensize at first but now that I have been using it, I find it to be the perfect size. Give it a shot and I think you will like it!

- for the purposes of web browsing and word processing using this is a very good laptop
- the touchscreen works pretty well
- if you need something cheap and lightweight to carry in your bag/backpack is an excellent buy
- the only real drawback i found is the heat that the processor generates, specially if the load is heavy

It's a good solid laptop, very light, good design, I wanted a budget laptop to do my university work and do research, and watch videos, listening to music etc, working great so far... NOT recommended for playing videogames not even relative old ones.
Don't guise yourself thru the Asus website they say this product has more features than it really is like back-lit keyboard: LIE.
