This is a great laptop. I know people put down the Intel HD graphics co-processor and maybe for a hard-core gamer, this is not good enough. But if you want a good solid and fast laptop for graphic or video work, this is a good value and will more than satisfy. I don't game much, but do play Halflife 2 and several of the Tomb Raider titles and have been quite satisfied. 3D software I use, such as Zbrush, Keyshot and Maya, run beautifully and I've had no problems with watching movies, though the 1600x900 resolution is a downside. I love the non-glare screen because I find the glossy glare of others a distraction. I highly recommend this laptop for the budget mined.

Outstanding value for a laptop if your priorities are screen, processor, 8Gb RAM, and Windows 8.1. Works great for browsing and games, though it's an Intel 4600 GPU, so I haven't tried a high-end game like Dying Light on it. I would have preferred a lighted keyboard and a 5G network adapter (comes with 2.4G), but these are minor detractions. Asus is becoming my go-to brand for most home computing equipment.

Best laptop for non-heavy gamer!

I Hesitate to give this a 5 star review just because the screen res is 1600 x 900 max instead of 1920 x 1080 But It's a beast and runs quite nicely. I have an Asus g75 series top of the line and I got this for my wife and was quite pleased with it. The processing power is great, programs open and close with the blink of an eye.

However, the drawback is the screen resolution. For such a powerhouse it could have bumped the screen res one more notch. THAT being said.. For the cost, this is an incredible machine.. If I could rate it a 4.5 that's what I would rate it, but being as awesome all around as it is, 5 will do it justice, plus I knew the screen res when I bought it..

For Gamers: This is NOT a gaming machine. This will run anything lightning fast, but if you're looking to blast through COD or Battlefield etc, you won't want this.. and... it's not made for it.. For light gamers playing some WoW or something.. you'll be fine..

This is a great laptop. Have not tried to play any games on it but have watched movies and the screen is nice. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because the resolution is 1600x900. My last Asus laptop was 1900x1000 and it took awhile for my eyes to adjust to the new resolution. In the future though I would buy a 1900X1000 resolution again.

Awesome machine for what I do. Great for word processing, spreadsheets, online bookkeeping, and being logged into several different online accounts - all at the same time! Replaced an older notebook with 4GB RAM and an AMD processor. This i7 processor and 8GB of RAM really makes a difference and speeds up my workflow. Highly recommend this notebook for tasks as I outlined above. I don't do any gaming, but, from what I read, the i7 is good for that as well, but not sure the graphics card would be up to snuff for the serious gamer. Max resolution on the display is 1600 x 900.

Good Computer. Touchpad could use some work

This is mostly a really good computer, but the touch pad underneath the keyboard is one of those without buttons. You press the lower, left corner and it's supposed to be like left-clicking. The lower right it's right-clicking and so on. This creates issues and it's easier to use a mouse. I have another Asus and the touchpad HAS the two buttons and I much prefer this arrangement.
