Great convenience to have a set-up like this for my vehicle.

This charging adapter fits snugly and securely into my vehicle's 12V receptacle. It is quality-made, well-constructed and is balanced nicely--even if you flip it upside down to have the cord on top and the two USB ports on the bottom. It has indents for three fingers, so you can grasp the charging adapter firmly and pull straight out. The unit has safety features to prevent overcharging, over heating, short circuits, etc.

Take a look at your device's original wall charging adapter to determine if this is acceptable for your needs. If you are new to this: The info you are looking for is located on the label on the back of the rectangular-shaped box part way between the cord that plugs into the wall and the cord that plugs into the device. In the small print you will see a line that says "OUTPUT:" followed by a voltage amount. Compare that with what's listed on this product page. Adapter tip ID's are listed here too. It may not be stamped on your original adapter tip, but you can usually do a web search and find it, or give a call to the manufacturer.

I have a regular wall charger that accepts all these laptop adapter tips, but I find it really helpful to have this type of set up for my vehicles. Between family and friends, it sometimes startles (and annoys) us how many different adapters are necessary to have on hand to cover all the different devices.

These adapter tips are very sturdy, and I could almost call them heavy-duty. They fit into the cord's female plug very tightly. It is not something that will slip out easily or unknowingly.

There are 11 adapters. Usually I see 8 adapters in a set, so this group should cover all your needs.

A very useful and practical car laptop charger

So many devices are powered via the ubiquitous USB standard that it is easy to forget about the good old fashioned laptop. Plenty of people travel with laptops both for pleasure and business so a universal car charger is a really good idea. I received the item for free in return for an honest review.

The unit comes with eleven interchangeable connectors which I assume cover the vast range of laptop power adapters, each with the voltage embossed on the side, ranging from 18V to 20V in 0.5 volt intervals. The adapters are a nice snug fit on the charger connection so there’s no risk of losing them or of them becoming inadvertently disconnected. It worked perfectly for our old IBM thinkpad and a less aged Acer but the charger itself is quite bulky so make sure you have sufficient room around the car power outlet so the unit does not encumber normal driving. The charger also has two USB ports to allow smartphones, satnavs etc. to share the power point. It feels robust and well manufactured and the gloss black finish looks good but does show every fingerprint. That notwithstanding, this is is a really useful bit of kit for anyone who needs to keep a laptop charged on the move.
