It was a longer length than my last charger, love it. ONLY COMES WITH THE PART THAT CONNECTS TO YOUR LAPTOP it doesn't come with the outlet plug but you can use your old one & it should work fine.

I purchased the item on the evening of May 3, 2015 and I received it this morning May 6, 2015. So I do have to say that it was definitely quick delivery because the estimate dates were May 7-12. I was a bit afraid that it wouldn't work, but ta da! My computer has been dead for 3 days and it soon came back to life. :) The cord is significantly shorter than the original charger that came with my laptop that I would have to get use to. Good news is that the item features both the cord that plugs into the laptop and the wall. And yes it does work for the HP Pavilion dv6 6112NR.

Good replacement charger

We were scared at first to even try this charger because of the reports about overheating. But ours has not overheated in the least. I think the discrepancy in reports is due to charging styles. We let our laptop battery charge up and then we unplug it as soon as charged.
I suggest not leaving the battery plugged to the charger for extended periods of time. Perhaps just 4-5 hours like we do. It works just fine for us. And the price is RIGHT! :-D

while compatible, not a complete 'replacement' for the g6 series laptops. once connected the computer posts a message stating the power supply is not powerful enough to charge the battery fully. it does keep the battery from draining and generates a slow charge, though I haven't tested it to see how much of a charge it is capable of producing.
-my item fortunately arrived a couple days after purchase, and was as described.

Lose, Does not charge properly

Its terrible.
I thought I am ordering a new charger, So it should work just fine. But there always seems to be a problem when I connect it. You have to hold the cables tightly at both ends until it starts charging. Sometimes, it stops charging and you have to repeat the process several times until it starts to charge again. It seems that the connections are lose from inside even though everything looks good from outside

This charger works well and for the most part I was very pleased with a good product at a good price. My one issue is that I wish the cord going into the computer was a bit longer but it certainly is not a deal breaker as my particular charging situation is not the norm.
