I didn't have lots of money to spend on a Microphone, so this seemed a good option. It works, connecting it was easy, computer with Windows 8 easily recognized it. Has some residual static though that fortunately I know how to eliminate in Audacity. It's also fairly short. Pictures are an odd perspective that don't really help you see how long it really is, but even with my desktop on top of my desk right next to me...I still have to lean into it a bit.

I got this also because I was having conflicts running multiple applications and hearing all of the audio together when using a headset with mic. This did solve that problem. I can now have my nice headphones on speak into this microphone - no conflicts.

I gave it 2 stars because it does work. However, the voice quality on this microphone is fuzzy and unclear. The person on the other end of Skype could understand me, but barely. You get what you pay for so I really shouldn't complain. I will be giving it away and have bought a higher quality combination item where my voice and picture come through very clearly.

I work in a daycare, and the kids often use my computer to play with the video effects on my webcam. It's withstood over 20 taps and flexes a day and it's still going great! Unless someone uses it as a chew toy I'm looking forward to buying another in the next couple of years!

these mics were ok to use with my Foscam IP cameras. It did increase the noise pic up but did not reduce any static noise that the cameras pick up. For the price they are ok but for the quality they are not so hot.

Received item today! At first I was kind of disappointed with the packaging because I thought it was going to come in a box to protect it since it's rather small. But it wasn't broken or damaged in anyway so I was grateful. It works great! Used with my speakers the volume is loud and you don't have to be in close proximity but w/out my speakers the volume is really low. You do have to position it just right so it will stand on its own. All in all for the amount that it cost it works rather well.

This microphone lasted me about 9 months before it died, I constantly used it on my laptop for Skype and other things and it worked perfectly.
For a dollar? PERFECT! One day it did just stop working, who knows maybe a simple tweak will fix it but since it was a dollar and lasted so long, I just assumed it's dead since it won't respond anymore.
Went and bought another one of these, still working and it's been around 1-2 months since I ordered it.
Greatly recommended!

I have this plugged into my desktop, which actually sits next to my recliner. The plug is in the top of the case, putting the mic about 2-3 feet away from me. I have used this for ventrillo, and people tell me they can hear me just fine. So long as it lasts, I shouldnt have any problem with it. The last one I vacuumed the cord by accident and it shredded it all, so when I found this I thought it would be perfect for my application. It is.

I tried to use this when teaching a live online class. My students could not hear me after the first 30 minutes. They said that they heard a lot of static as well. Unfortunately, it did not work well for me. It was also much shorter than it looks in the photo.
