I’m here to address the complaint that all the reviews on this item are fake on the grounds that they “received the product for free in exchange for good reviews”. First and foremost I’d just like to state that the last time I checked, receiving an item for free does NOT mean you have to give it a positive review, nor does it help you get further free items from that OR other manufacturers. With that out of the way…

I did, in fact, purchase this item with my own hard-earned money. So in case you feel other reviewers were “paid off”, I’m here to set you straight (Note: This will be an on-going review. I plan to update it periodically with anything I can think of, positives AND negatives). Sit back, grab a snack along with the beverage of your choice, and let’s get this thing going!

Upon unpacking the device, I was pleasantly surprised as to how “heavy” the tablet was. It has some very high quality construction to it and most definitely doesn’t feel cheap in any way. Underneath I found the INCLUDED keyboard with touchpad, which I have to say is a very nice and welcomed addition. I immediately sat down at the kitchen table, attached the tablet to the keyboard base (which you can do blindfolded by the way, the magnets make it completely effortless), folded the rear of the keyboard up to support the tablet (which also uses magnets, so easy), and eagerly turned it on.

In no time, Windows 8.1 greeted me, asking all the usual setup questions. A few minutes later I was looking at my fully functional desktop, and it was then that I realized how nice the screen really was! Seconds later, I was prompted to confirm if I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10! Now let me say that I’m definitely no fan of Windows 8 or 8.Read more ›

Solid functionality for the price; several useful design touches

Bottom line: For the price, this is hard to beat. I’ve used similar convertible systems and, while this is not a speed demon nor built for “power” users, it gives decent performance and is the lowest-priced Win 8 (or 10) system I’ve come across. It’s worth considering if you’re looking for an inexpensive Win system that offers good performance for routine use.

Full review: Convertible systems are great for getting the most out of Windows. While touch screen operation is very handy, you can’t beat a real keyboard when it comes to writing more than a few words at a time, or using most any office productivity software. While any tablet can be tethered to a keyboard, having a convertible gives you the ability to run in tablet mode or laptop mode without having to drag extra equipment around.

This Win convertible from iClever is a lot better than I expected at this price point. The build quality is very good – it feels substantial throughout. While I’m not nuts about the orange color of the edging, it does serve a valuable purpose: you can actually see all the ports and switches very easily.

It came very well packaged in an upscale box with foam cutouts. It actually was a better looking presentation than the Asus Transformer, which costs more than twice as much as this.

The keyboard is especially nice. It has an excellent key feel and, while the throw is short, it’s possible to touch type at a decent speed on it. The keyboard casing is plastic, but it’s solid enough that there was only a little flex when I was using it on my lap. Best of all is how it’s integrated into the case – the keyboard is attached to the bottom flap of the case with a magnetic dock at the top for the tablet. I'm sorry to say the listing title is all wrong. It's not a Windows 8.1 tablet, at least not anymore it isn't.

I pressed the "upgrade to 10" icon, followed the on-screen instructions, and a while later I was welcomed to my Genuine, Official, Windows 10 tablet.

The tablet takes less than 45 seconds to reboot. The rest of the login takes less than five. To me, that's pretty good.

Video streaming is smooth. The screen is bright and sharp. The audio is a bit thing and that can be expected with a tablet.

The included "origami" keyboard case is very handy. It flips open to create an easle for the tablet and a keyboard for my fingers. Another flip and everything is wrapped up, sealed shut, and ready to go.

The tablet was provided with no further obligation' so I could give you this review.

iClever IC-BKC06 Universal Bluetooth Keyboard PU Leather Case Stand Cover Mouse Touchpad - Detachable Bluetooth Keyboard - Folding Portfolio is Good quality materials and workmanship; excellent value for the money. Note: "PU Leather" is synthetic (PolyUrethane) leatherette material, which is not real (animal hide) leather. However, it is waterproof with a leather texture and feel; and, as a relatively durable substitute, it should hold up fine for most users.

The Tablet Case – The case is made well with a sturdy leather-like material that fits perfectly with the Galaxy Tab 4, 10.1. The fit is snug and the tablet does not come loose from the casing. It is surprisingly lightweight. It actually looks like a thin paperback. The case closes with a garter latch and has a pull-out stand in back for landscape viewing. I ordered the black which is sleek and attractive. There are small round magnets behind the cover casing for attaching the keyboard. At first, we were worried about the magnets scrambling the apps and files, but they didn't. The files are intact and the tablet performance is the same with or without the case. My guess is that the magnetic field is too weak as to have any impact on the files.

The Keyboard: The keyboard is a sturdy hard shell and weighs 5.5 ounces on scale. The unit attaches securely to the case and does not fall off. Best of all, it feels like a real keyboard one might find in a laptop, only smaller. The feel is good. It's has a springy touch and easy to type with. More importantly, typing has NO LAG TIME, a must have for anyone using a wireless keyboard. Writing emails and Word documents is a snap. You actually see the letters on the screen as you type them.
