When your laptop battery gives out and you end up tethered to a wall plug the thrill is gone. This new battery cut the ties binding me and I am free to roam again. Now I can sit in an 'All you can eat' buffet and peal and eat shrimp while reading an ebook, tapping the page Fwd key with the fork handle as necessary for HOURS - not something you can do with a paper book...way messy!

This battery was the best price found on the internet AND has as many hours of run time as the OEM battery, not usually the case with aftermarket batterys. That makes this especially pleasing as it shows this is a quality product at a reasonable price. I have already recommended the seller to friends for their new replacement laptop batteries.

Shipping was amazing too, I ordered and even though I specified 'ground' expecting the package in 6 to 7 days....it showed up the SECOND day after ordering. At that speed...its almost like teleportation! Arrived well packed with an inner box surrounded by foam inside a sturdy outer box. For those of you who did not know....'Fragile' is shipping industry code for "driver..smash this".....they would fail with this sturdy packaging!!!

Stopped working after two days

I ordered this to replace the battery in my Acer Aspire 5740 (#AS07A31). When it first arrived and I popped it into my laptop it worked great! It charged up just fine and had a life of almost three hours. Only TWO days later, all of a sudden, it just stopped working. Now it just won't charge at all anymore! Ugh.

There was no reason that this should have happened unless it was defective. I didn't expect this battery to last forever but I certainly didn't expect it to crap out after a mere two days. I'm really disappointed and can only hope that it is a rare defective unit that will be replaced under the 12 month warranty that this battery is listed as having in the product description. I've contacted the seller and am hoping that I won't have to wait to long or spend anymore money just to have the working battery I should have had in the first place. I'll update if/when someone gets back to me... fingers crossed!

Great replacement battery

After reading some of the mixed reviews, I was pretty nervous about getting this. Then I figured I would just buy another if this once was faulty or I would just return it. A little inconvenient, but worth it. My battery only lasted 15 min while unplugged and I had the defective battery "Consider replacing" message in my taskbar.

Now, with this battery, my laptop lasts ~3 hrs. A great help, since my grad school class is a 3 hr lecture.

Note: I have an Acer Aspire 5542g.

Used Wrong Search Key Word

This battery model came up when I did a Amazon search for the battery model number for my Gateway laptop but when it arrived the battery was not accepted by the laptop hardware though it physically fit the battery slot.

Because this was the cheapest battery in my search list I ordered the battery. My fault for thinking that all laptop battery model numbers can be cross referenced and interchangeable. They are not.

So if you are looking for a laptop battery it is best to do a Amazon search based on the laptop brand and model number and not simply the battery model number.

The battery was not boxed package but was sent via bubble wrap envelope. The Seller promptly refunded my money but I lost on the shipping costs since this was not shipped by Amazon.

3 Stars for neutral.

Lasted about a year

I bought this battery 14 months ago. It lasted about a year of very light use before getting the infamous "consider replacing your battery" message. The battery never lasted as long as the original and now only lasts a few minutes. If you only need this to get you through a few months, it may be a good purchase.
