Battery was not as advertised

While the battery was delivered speedily, it was not - as advertised - compatible with my Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX. This was very surprising since I had ordered the selfsame battery for a relative who has the same laptop model and theirs worked perfectly. When I compared the battery I ordered for myself with the one I'd ordered for my relative, I found that they were totally different... Even though I'd ordered the SAME battery both times!

I took a chance on this battery because of the price. My old one had quit taking a charge after several years of use. When I first installed this battery, I thought I had made a bad decision. It didn't seem to want to lock in place like the old one. I had read other reviews complaining about this. However, I determined that the slider on the lock was simply a little more snug than the old one. I had to firmly push on it with my thumb, but when I did, it settled into place and went right to work. So far, it has taken a charge well and holds it well. It's important to understand that most rechargeable batteries need to be "exercised" regularly. What I mean is that they need to be used frequently and they need to be almost fully discharged before recharging them again. When your battery is fully charged, disconnect the AC adapter and let the battery do its job. Then make it a habit to keep an eye on your battery indicator. Resist the urge to recharge your battery until the indicator is low. It's been my experience that lithium batteries work better and last longer when they get a frequent workout. Even the performance of a brand new battery will need this done a few times before you'll see it operating at its full capacity. NOTE: I'm not a computer technician. This is just a personal observation.

This gave new life to my old laptop. My old battery had gotten so weak that I could not unplug for more than one or two minutes before it died. My laptop is a huge energy hog, so I won't get into battery times, but this new battery does a great job for the price. This is n excellent inexpensive way to get a little more life from an old laptop. Great value!

It has been a couple months since I bought it and it still works pretty good. It keeps the charge for a while, not as much as I would like it too but as long as the battery that came with my laptop. I bought it because my laptop battery was so shot that every time I unplug the charger it would die. It was well worth the money since I no longer have to be attached to the charger.

I bought this product 4 months ago to replace my factory installed battery. The new pack lasted with normal battery life until about a month ago (3 months after purchase) when the life seemed to drop by half. One month later (4 after initial purchase) the battery meter on my laptop simply reads "charging, 1%" but the pack appears to not be holding a charge.

I don't know where this company gets their supply from but 4 months on a battery life is unacceptable and this is clearly an inferior product not even close to true manufacture specifications.
