                           First Announcement 
 
To celebrate the 70th birthday of Professor Hoang Tuy the Hanoi  
Institute of Mathematics (HIM) and the Vietnamese Mathematical  
Society (VMS) organize an international conference in Hanoi,  
December 27-30, 1997. As a former director  of HIM and a former  
general secretary of VMS Professor Tuy paid a great contribution  
to the development of our Institute and Society, especially in   
the area of  mathematical analysis and optimization. 
With the aim at a greater success we call for cosponsorships and 
assistances from domestic/foreign institutions, universities and  
entreprises who might find interests in our conference.
