THE FIRST INFORMATION HIGHWAY IN VIETNAM
VietNet is an Information Highway capable of connecting all computers
throughout Vietnam via three stations: Hanoi, Nhatrang, HochiMinh City,
using the standard telecom protocol of TCP/IP. This is the only network
having a direct access 24 hours a day with the following services:
1. E. Mail: helps you to exchange letters, documents with your friends,
colleagues, or your partner ... nationwide and worldwide. E.Mail is
transmitted 5 times per day at 8:30, 11:00, 15:00, 19:00, 23:00 to foreign
countries and at once for domestic E.Mail .
2. E.News: electronic news is updated every two hour with various, plentiful
and essential information or news on fields of economic, business,
scientific technology, culture and sport, Youth Newspaper, Lourve Museum,
Virus Software free, Vietnet shopping.
3. News: is a forum to exchange information among one group on the same
network. Specially, this service can help the enterprises in introducing
their goods to public users on the network.
4. Telbank: the first public data bank in Vietnam provides necessary
information for the enterprises such as the economic potential of 53
provinces of Vietnam in appealing for investment, information about
Representative Offices, foreign companies and enterprises operating in Vietnam.
5. FTP: enable you to transfer the file or data, from your own computer to
other computer on the nationwide network. It is highly economic effects and
very fast.
6. Win - Talk : enable you to hold a conference with the participants from
distance everywhere who do not need to attend right in the place. What
discussed in the conference will be then automatically saved in files.
7. TelNet: the distant station enables you to work as on your own computer
regardless of wherever you are.
8. World Wide Web: used for the publishing work on the network, it is
suitable for news agencies, or companies to introduce their products by
pictures and sound to all users on the network. Particularly, it is able to
provide Homepage for enterprises to advertise on VietNet Highway.
*Second service:
On- line Network: LANs can be connected to VietNet. For example, a LAN in
HaNoi and a LAN in Ho Chi Minh City can be linked with each other via
VietNet and running 24 hours a day.
