Re: Name and label

Hello Anh Ca,
Your comment has far reaching consequences. It would have been all right
if it stays there. But in fact it leads to bad and sick consequences.
Just to mention one: the intellectuals wearing the titles but they
don't really respect them. The titles can be used only to threaten the
laymen. It is really easy to hear comments among Prof.s Drs. that "
Tha(`ng a^'y TS GS ma` ngu nhu+ lo+n.". The "terminology" : "Lo+n. con"
mentioned by anh AnHAi was certainly found by intellectuals.
If the intellectuals don't respect themself how can they be respected by
others. The usual practice is the the big bosses don't value the
intellectuals under them as much as administratives even the drivers.

The title is used only for threatening the laymen. The effect of the
excessive use will be lost by time like anti-biotic. What is the danger
of that? The intellectual class will loose the prestige as the standard
of the moral values of a society. If a society does not have that, how
can we blame the horrible crimes as posted yesterday concerning rapes, child
sexual abuses. The raison d'e^tre of the intellectual class in VN is not
to generate a new technology or world famous invention ( at least not so
urgent), but to keep a stable value system.( That is why Ba'o Va(n Nghe^.
has not attacked the corruption in the intellectual class).

The real concern is that the value systems maintained by the F1 generation
intellectuals is still not stable. Nobody can judge that you are working
well. The most famous scientists made their careers abroad and coming home
with recommendations and title from outside not the knowledge that only few
"tha^'p co^? be' ho.ng" could appreciate.

Chu Va(n An could be confident to " an ba^`n la.c dda.o" because the
value system was very stable. The society had to respect him because of that.
Now we wonder whether a lot of "tha(`ng ga`n" are really "ga`n" or they
are poor and do the crackpot science and awkward suggestions. Who can judge
if the intellectual class cannot do that by itself and has to refer to
titles...

Somebody objected my opinion that the human science now is playing a
more important role, than the natural one. It is the human scientists who
can help more effectively to work out a new and stable value system.
By that we can justify the quality of others.
If you said that natural science will promote technology, I would say
that the market will take care about that. The Vnmese natural science
still have a long way to new technology and a value system is needed in
the brief case.

Cheers
Aiviet
