Tuoi Tre: A schoolboy returns VND100 million to victim

On the way home from school on April 11, Nguyen Doan Duy Lam, a schoolboy
of the Doan Thi Diem Elementary School, HCMC picked up the handbag
containing a savings book worth VND100 million, two drafts with a face
value of VND1 million each, VND1.15 million in cash and other papers in
the Tan Thang field, Ward 16, Tan Binh District. 

Lam then decided to run to the police of Ward 16 and turn in the handbag
after several young guys demanded he share the money inside. The handbag
was returned to the woman who lives on Lac Long Quan Street, Ward 9, Tan
Binh District. She gave the boy VND1 million to show her gratitude and
said that at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, two unidentified men had robbed
her of the handbag. Apparently afraid of being discovered, they hid the
handbag where the schoolboy found it. 

The People's Committee of Tan Binh District awarded Nguyen Doan Duy Lam a
congratulatory certificate and VND200,000 for his honesty. Lam also
received a congratulatory certificate and presents from the Office of
Education and Training.  It is worth noting that about three months ago, a
younger brother of Lam also picked up VND5 million and decided to hand the
money to the person who dropped it.
