Hello Floydians,

vnsa-l> The McCartney-produced "Those were the days", written by Gene Raskin and based
vnsa-l> on the melody of the Russian traditional folksong DAROGOI DLIMMOYO, first
vnsa-l> recorded in 1920s by Alexander Wertinsky, launched Apple in the UK alongside the
vnsa-l> Beatle's own "Hey Jude" in 1968.
vnsa-l> Hope this can clarify your question.
TUYE^.T VO+`I !!!
My big THANK you . I am fully satisfied.
So they are right when they say the song is Russian and I am wrong saying it is not.
Thanks again for helping clarify my long-time wish-to know thing.

vnsa-l> Just an interesting fact, I've heard that PF is leading in the number
vnsa-l> of PF bootlegs ever produced and circulated out there. If some of you have
vnsa-l> an early bootleg with good sound quality, please drop me a line. Thanks!
Uhm, I have one recorded in 1970 (I will check this date again) concert and saw another
recorded in probably 1967 in a shop for about 500 yen (about 4USD). That's really cool
price, isn't it. Otherwise, bootleg CD is very expensive here in Japan ( 2000 ~ 5000 yen/
piece).
However, PF is not the most collectable yet, according to a specialised magazine
published in Britain( "Record Collector").To explore more on this subject, I suggest the
following things:
1/Go to big CD shop or shops you know they deal with bootleg.
2/Join the P.F mailing list ECHOES. But it is very active list, if you can not receive
about 100K of e-mail a day, do not join in. If you are interested in its addr. pls, let
me know.
Nice to talk to you. Thanks
