Computer network for Government bodies

Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet has signed a decision on the installation of a
wide area network for all Government bodies to facilitate communications,
said Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.

This computer network will be constructed to link the Central Government
with local area networks at ministries, ministerial-level bodies,  
Government agencies and provincial people's committees.

The transmission of data and information about economic and social issues,
legal documents, and daily emergency reports on the wide area network will
help the machinery of the Government run more smoothly and efficiently.

The PM has requested ministers, heads of ministerial-level bodies and
Government agencies, and chairmen of provincial people's committees to
instruct the installation of computer networks at their premises so that
they can integrate into the Government's single network.
