[Fashion] Hairshow '97
Hairshow '97
Hairshow '97 was recently staged at the Institute for Cultural Exchange
with France (IDECAF), with the participation of 39 models who presented 39
hairstyles with three topics: parties, impressionism and strolling in the
streets.
A group of nine hairstylists including Vinh Hoang, Eva, Xuan Tham My, Ngoc
Ha, Ly Ly, Bang Tam, The Hien, Hung An Dong and My My brought models on
stage to cut their hair on the spot to create fashionable hairstyles for
strolling in the streets.
The final hairstyles of the program, which were suitable for parties, were
performed by Ms. Maryse Denzer and Xuan Tham My. The former is a famous
American hairstylist, who came here with a group of hair-stylist experts
from Keune Shop in Europe to open a three-day course on hairdressing for
young Vietnamese hairstylists. They were trained in how to dye, comb and
curl hair using international-standard methods.
Fashionable hairdressing is quite popular in HCMC, but only in 1990 was
the first hair show organized at Hoa Binh Theater (District 10, HCMC). In
1996, a "golden hand" contest for Vietnamese hairstylists was held in the
city, and this year, the Hairshow program.
It is believed that the demand for hairdressing will develop strongly in
Vietnam in the near future.
