Enterprises to pay training costs, Minister confirms

(SGT-HCMC) In the future, all enterprises at home and abroad must pay
training costs for recruited workers, said Minister of Labor, War
Invalids and Social Welfare Tran Dinh Hoan in a seminar on the interests
and responsibilities of employers and employees held in HCMC on June 7.

As Minister Hoan said, in order to put an end to unhealthy competition
among enterprises in recruiting skilled workers, especially that between
foreign-invested and domestic enterprises, the State is laying out
regulations to adjust and create a high-caliber employment market.

Accordingly, enterprises recruiting new graduates will have to reimburse
training costs to the State; if they employ workers from other
enterprises, they will have to reimburse the enterprises where the
recruits in question were employed previously.

The minister added that the Government is considering the
re-establishment of the general department of vocational training and
the system of affiliated vocational schools, together with the upgrade
and restoration of vocational schools which were previously established.

Also, the Government will take into consideration the stipulation that
all strong corporations countrywide will have to set up their own
vocational schools to train human resources to meet the demand for
employment.
