FELLOWSHIP: National Sea Grant Program  -  Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship

TARGETED FIELDS:
Marine-related fields

ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate or professional degree program in
a marine-related field at an accredited institution of higher education.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The program, which is sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration's (NOAA) National Sea Grant College Program, matches graduate
students with hosts in the legislative branch, the executive branch, or
appropriate institutions located in the  Washington, D.C. area for a
one-year fellowship(non-renewable).  The starting time is usually between
January 15 and February 1 each year.  Students apply through the state Sea
Grant program.

STIPEND:
$30,000

DEADLINE DATE:
August 30, 1997

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
Completed applications include: personal and academic resume or curriculum
vitae, educational and career goal statement (2 pages), two letters of
recommendation (one from student's major professor), a letter of endorsement
from the sponsoring state Sea Grant director, and undergraduate and graduate
transcripts.
