Sophie Marceu, Rubic cubes, computer game players exhibition
Cha`o ca'c ba'c,
heared about Sophie Marceau? Seen La Boum (in Hungarian, it's
ha'zibuli, right?) with its infectious theme melody (dreams are my
reality)? Of course you have!
So it's kind of shocking for me to learn from my roommate who is French
that she has Vietnamese blood in her veins. Anybody can confirm this?
Or maybe it's not so shocking after all, as i start to understand her
inexplicable resemblance to my secret highschool admiree.
---------------
Recently i read from a newspaper that a proof had been found that shows
that it requires at most 20 steps (and on average 18 steps) to solve any
Rubic cube puzzle. Any comments?
Btw, the article also said that this new result will be presented at the
American National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Providence,
Rhode Islands (July 27th - 31st).
[For the conference attendees (Ho^` Ngo.c Ddu*'c, Tra^`n Cao So*n, etc.)]
I'd like to recommend a new event of this year's conference: Hall of
Champions. This exhibition features the demonstrations of best computer
players of a variety of classic games such as backgammon, bridge, chess,
checkers, go, othello, etc. You will have the opportunity to discuss
technical/social issues with the programs' authors in creating the
programs, watch them play with human experts, or go and measure your
strength against them yourself. I'll be on the administrative team as a
student volunteer on July 30th. Looking forward to seeing you in
Providence. I'll be staying at Holiday Inn (July 26-30) and Brown
University Dormitory (July 31st - Aug 2).
Oh, btw has anybody seen Anna Karenina (i mean the movie just released)?
Any good?
Cheers, Vu~
