Katharina and Jana were waiting for us at the train terminal. It was a happy moment, and I was a little shocked because Jana told me she wouldn't arrive for a couple of days. We drove back to Katharina's house in Jana's car. Our mood was jovial. When we got to Katharina's house we met her parents and took a little tour. We took a walk around the town. Katharina lives in the suburbs of Leipzig, but it kind of reminded me of a rural town. Some of Katharina's friends came over and we drank in her kitchen. I had met some of her friends (Stephen, Gianni, and Katrin; more about them later) when they visited her in Chicago. At this point, I think Eliot and I had managed to stay up for about 30 hours, but then I lost consciousness on the floor of Katharina's bedroom. |
