TORRENTIAL RAINS KILL TWO PERSONS IN BA RIA-VUNG TAU PROVINCE

Ha Noi, Oct.  26 (VNA) -- Torrential rains in the sounthern coastal
province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Oct.  25 slided the Nho moutain and
killed two persons. 

Phuoc Van bridge on Highway 56 was collapsed and over 1,000 ha of rice
fields were submerged under water. 

The rainfall measured 98 mm in Vung Tau city put many road sections
under water, causing traffic jams for hours. 

Meanwhile, torrential rains in the northern province of Ninh Binh from
Oct.  24-26, measuring 370 mm on average, flooded 6,120 ha of rice
fields and 4,500 ha of subsidiary food crops and eroded many dyke
sections. 

Local authorities helped the victims bring their lives back to normal
