Agile Book Group
Description
This was a project that I proposed to management at Quat/Tech. The
development at the time was difficult to categorized and consisted of
something similar to waterfall mixed with doing what ever the
senior programmers wanted. There where a number of people who didn't
like this method and a lot of time was spent debating how to fix it.
I suggested to management that we start a group to study Agile
principles and suggest methods for improving the development environment.
We used the book "Agile and Iterative Development: A Manager's Guide".
Challenges
The main challeng was changing enough to have a positive impact
on our development process while not changing so much that the
senior developers wouldn't get on board.
Results
While we where able to get a wiki up for development notes and had
a few scrums, we weren't able to convince enought of the senior
developers or managers that this was a good enough idea to spend the
time to implement.
