The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest
(ICPC) is contest which
challenges participants (undergrads and first-year graduate students) to
solve algorithmic problems efficiently and code the solutions quickly.
I first participated in the ICPC as a contestant on
Madison's team in 2005.
Our team – Patrick Davidson, Alex Frase and myself – placed first in
the regionals and progressed to the world finals in Shanghai, China. I
volunteered as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2008, and was the main coach in
2009. Each year we carried on our tradition of advancing to the world
finals.

and a comprehensive list of UW-Madison's ICPC accomplishments can be found
here.
