Opportunities

We are always interested in recruiting talented graduate students and post-docs who wish to study the most fascinating questions in evolutionary biology.

Bret accepts graduate students through the Genetics graduate training program.

Several funding opportunities exist for postdoctoral research.  Bret is a trainer in two NIH training programs that offer postdoctoral fellowships: Genome Sciences (GSTP) and Computation and Informatics in Biology and Medicine (CIBM) .  Bret is also happy to help draft proposals for external funding.  Two especially relevant sources are the Ruth Kirstein NIH NRSA Program and the NSF Interdisciplinary Informatics Training Program.

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is currently available in the lab.  The research focus will be the inference of evolutionary processes from genome-wide patterns of DNA polymorphism.  For more information, see this advertisement.
